I'll be honest, I'm yet to watch Arkansas play and probably won't watch them play until fat boy plays Rutgers or SEC play. With that said, I'm very familiar with Bret and his coaching style. What exactly makes you or other Razorback fans think your team looks like shite?

From all of our match ups, Bret is a fundamental guy...

*Get a solid OL
*Get like 3-5 talent RBs
*Limit TOs
*Run short passing plays but have a run heavy offense
*Mismanage the clock and timeouts. (If you haven't seen it yet, just wait)

Granted this isn't the B1G anymore, fill me in with the details.

Unfortunately, we looked pretty bad. I'm hoping Bielema played backups most of the game.

Bret should tell that to Jonathan Williams

Well, it's his first year and he's coaching a team built for a passing offense, so it shouldn't be surprising if he struggles. IIRC, Saban only went 7-6 in his first year at Alabama, with a loss to ULM.

My biggest concern is that I'm not sure if Bielema's game will work in today's SEC very well. It may work fine, but I do have a few concerns. The game in the SEC isn't as simple as it is in the B1G.

I think we will be ok. I truly think Aggy will not meet expectations though.

I agree the B1G style of play is different from the SEC and in the case of Bret things will get worst. I'm not sure how good your QB passing and accuracy is but Bret teams are heavy on the run where as SEC teams like LSU, Bama, Florida and co are built to stop the run and focus little on the pass. If he changes his style and has the passing threat that Petrino had along with his run, watch out.

If I were you guys, I would expect mediocrity form him for the first year until he gets his QB. If you guys can get someone mobile like Russel Wilson in your offense or better, Arkansas will be deadly. As much crap as I gave him after kicking his arse 5 out of 6 times, he's actually a fundamental coach.

I would low ball my expectation this year but expect the future to be better. 7-5 at best this year.

Samford is not a bad team. They have a little talent and are well coached.

Arkansas had 2 more turnovers than Samford and 45 yards more in penalties. We secure the ball better and limit dumb penalties, and we win by 3+ TD's.

Arkansas had 22 first downs, Samford had 13.

Arkansas had 448 total yards, Samford had 228.

Brandon Allen is managing the game well, making good throws to all parts of the field, and knows when to take off and run and is pretty good at it.

Our backfield is stacked, our O-line is pretty good.

Hocker can hit 53 yard field goals.

D-line is the saving grace of our defense and will allow the D to make some stops instead of getting run over every game.

Our schedule is pretty tough, but 6 or 7 wins plus a bowl game is what I'm seeing and I'm happy with that in Coach B's first season. Our coaching staff is solid. With a good running game and a defense that should be improving each year, we will compete for championships in the coming years.

I think you'll find most Arky fans are down to earth (i know, impossible with a tag like "delusional"). Our homerism and team spirit is mistaken alot for delusion and trolling.

The youth of the defense was apparent tonight. Samford on the other hand suprised. They were well coached, seemed to never miss assignments, didn't turn the ball over, etc. Had a decent RB.

Can someone please tell Bert to remind the young bucks to put both hands on the ball in traffic?

Good points and thanks for the insight. Expect the number of pentalities to go down too. This is another good quality in his coaching.

Hopefully we play you guys again. The Sugar Bowl was fun, until it was vacated.

Good luck this season.
