Thanks for the info! I was going by ESPN's team stuff/quick stats that had us 5th in rebounding and high in defensive categories. I think we're getting better at shooting even though that's not reflected yet. I've seen ESPN make errors/not update before so it really doesn't surprise me they're off.

Very much looking forward to the matchup! I just wish it was at TBA instead.

BTW, I can't help but notice that UT and SC support women's sports really well and I mean beyond just WBB. I don't know if SC's support is on here or what but it's something to be proud of imo. TAMU does a pretty good job as well.

Gentlemen, pat yourselves on the back for doing so. Those of us with nieces, daughters, and/or other young women in our lives know how important it is to show women's teams a little love. At least, I think so.

UK is the 2nd best scoring team with their "fastest offense in WCBB" system. We play them in Columbia on Jan. 11th, the next "big game" for us, or at least the next ranked opponent. That will also be a good one to watch. I will definitely see how they do versus Duke tomorrow, to get an idea of how well they play against that type of height and size in the post. The biggest marquee game tomorrow no doubt will be versus Texas A&M and Texas: huge in-state rivalry between two top programs. It should be a good one to watch...

Well if you watched or attended the Cocks @ Dook you will get an idea of how the game will be called. UK may have the better team but don't expect them to get the win. The Russian chick is out and now Goss is out for a month or 2 with a broken thumb. The big issue is the refs "slowing the game to a crawl" which tends to negate the "fastest offense in WCBB" and kills the "40 mins of hell" type game. Dook is supposed to be this Top 10 type program yet the refs never seem to let them get run on to challenge them.

Cats play the Cocks twice this year and the 2nd game will be Senior Night in a probably sold out Memorial. Goss should be back by then and hopefully The Russian will be back as well. Here is a pic of her from this summer and it is not a photoshop.

LSU is shite this year
Once a perennial Final 4 team, LSU women's basketball is dead and buried under Niki Manaj. Bad hire.

After Pokey got caught doing the Hokey Pokey with her players, LSU should have thrown the big $$$$$$$ at Kim Mulkey and been done with it. Instead they fart around with the old fart and then bring in a Model.

Very proud of our Lady Vols - they not only thrashed Stanford and came away with an upset

To be fair, Stanford got blown out by UT-Chattanooga just 3 days earlier.

To be fair the Lady Mocs are a solid mid major and not unfamiliar with upsetting top teams. Like some of the other WBB schools in TN you get hammered losing to them but not enough love for beating them.

Why are they playing in Arkansas?

I can understand the men's reasons for neutral court...but you rarely see that in womens

Big 12 vs SEC double header

Game #1 Texas vs Texas A&M
Game #2 Oklahoma vs Arkansas

Game is in Little Rock as it is viewed as neutral and LR has hosted many WBB events in the past.

Firstly, they only lost by 12 to Chatt.

Secondly, Chatt has been pretty good..they just have some headscratchers

Yeah, I think 20 after the first.

Oklahoma should win easily but Jimmy has few bodies but has been good with them so far. Hogs win and it would be good boost for the SEC and for long term recruiting as to where he takes this program.

The Lady Mocs have beaten us twice lately, including this year when we were ranked #4. Playing them at their house is tough. A program doesn't knock off two teams like the Lady Vols and Stanford at home without being good. They're a well supported team, a well coached team, and one that has a legitimate home court advantage.

While they're not as good on the road, they are capable of beating any team in the nation at home.

As for not enough respect for winning and too much hammering for losing to them, IIRC, we took a harder hit losing to Texas than we did to losing to UTC. Of course some of that was the score, Mocs eked out a win while Texas gashed us but I think some of it is that within the WBB world the Lady Mocs are finally getting the respect they deserve. The general public though has yet to catch on as much.

Hogs may be our only hope today and they have gone cold since the 2nd half started.

Hate seeing us lose to the B12. We're a better top to bottom conference, imo. But they've had our number lately.

LVs should've vanquished Texas despite them being a really good team but our LVs flat out didn't play well that game. It seems we've corrected those issues since *knock on wood* and I expect other SEC teams to as well. B12 just seems to have more teams start off more gelled than we do while our teams are slower to start the season -- need more games to start playing real ball.

At least, that's the way it's looked to me.

In fairness, Nikki is a good coach who was considered a great hire at the time. I mean you're griping about a coach who was named Coach of the Year in the Pac-12 and has given y'all back to back Sweet Sixteens. I think her biggest issue is recruiting.

Pokey inherited a fantastic roster. One that had just been to the Elite 8 and then the Final 4 and one with a crazy good record. She also coached in a very different era for WBB. The sport isn't the same today as it was 10 years ago. LSU had also started to slip her final year in terms of Ws-Ls (not much but it shows the roster changes).

Nikki will be a good coach for y'all if she can get the recruiting aspect worked out but with a stronger conference and more competition for recruits nationwide it's tough. Only the LVs and UCONN are in a position to recruit damn near anyone they please because of the historic dominance of their programs but the WBB landscape is far more competitive these days and even those two programs get beat out for recruits now and then. There are too many good WBB schools fighting over the same recruits, especially in the SEC.

If they're serious about WBB then LSU needs to invest heavily in the recruiting budget to keep up. And if Nikki can't cut it as a recruiter she needs to bring in an assistant who specializes in it. JMO.
