Watching the 30 for 30 on SMU, no matter what Ole Miss

Did it does not rise to the level of SMU.
SMU involved the Governor/ex Governor/Governor, brazen payments out in the open, lying about cleaning it up after first getting hit with NCAA penalties, then continuing on as nothing had happened.
The Southwest Conference was as sleezy as it could ever be.

love that part about A&M getting Dickerson a Trans AM. "What were they going to do? Call the NCAA and say 'we bought Eric Dickerson a Trans Am and now he's going to SMU!'"

Crazy times. The SMU coach was using hundred dollar bills for business cards. He would tack one to the high school locker room bulletin board with his number and "Call me!"

He left behind a team that went 10-1 in 1981 and had something like 19 starters coming back for 1982. Bobby Collins was like SMU’s 5th choice. They offered the job to Tom Osborne, Emory Bellard, John Mackovic, and Jackie Sherrill (took A&M job same year) and then finally Collins took it. That alone should have told you something when nobody wanted the job because they knew what was going on and what a mess it would be eventually.
