I haven't seen the bo/boz highlight in a while, and honestly it's nothing special. The same type of missed/broken tackle happens multiple times in every game.

Also regarding Bo's fame and mystique, he had the bo knows Nike campaign. We forget about it now since bo got injured and fell off the map, but at the time he was probably the most marketable athlete in the country not named Michael Jordan.

The issue with all of the other guys is they had massive personality. The Boz's haircut, Deion High-stepping attitude, Tebow's religion, JFF's money sign and attitude, etc.

The 1980s was a period of great change. The athletes you mentioned embodied that change - and the new 24-hr sports TV phenomenon embraced them.

I think you are warranted in saying that Cam is the best cfb player you've ever seen play. He is up there for me for sure. He was better than Tebow and Manziel, and before them, the closest comparison I can think of is Reggie Bush, and Cam was better than him.

Vince young was a better college qb than cam. It's close, and Vince's longevity helps his argument, but his performances in 2 rose bowls were legendary. I also think Reggie bush was a better college football player than cam. Cam no doubt is easily better than tebow or manziel. The other guy that's up there is Adrian Peterson

I looked up both of their respective last years' stats. Using one game as an argument isn't very strong.
You keep saying 2 rose bowl's and I already stated that longevity could be an argument.

Cam Newton had one of the best cfb seasons in history.
Vince Young's junior season was similar, albeit not quite as good, as Cam's one season at Auburn. Vince Young also had a great back half to his sophomore season, and, as our USC friend mentioned, a couple of legendary Rose Bowl performances. Cam, on the other hand, never had a Vince-esque bowl performance.
Tough call, really. I think Tebow and Frazier are also in this conversation.

when that one game is the BCS championship game than it absolutely strengthens the argument. Cam was mediocre in his appearance vs oregon, VY had one of the greatest games in college football history.
