Regardless of where one ranks women's college basketball, that win by the lady State team was one of the top 10 upsets in SEC History, man, woman, transgender, dog, etc of any sport.

I remember that was on a Friday night and once UConn got ahead in the second half I hit the sack. I saw the winning shot on replays, but enjoyed watching the end of the game unfold.

Really impressed with Miss State's coach. Really showed a lot of good sportsmanship and class in the aftermath. I had heard about Doris Burke's whining. Honestly I think she's pretty good. But even though she went to Providence, that old Big East lovefest showed through loud and clear. Her fawning over UConn and obvious disappointment was pretty unprofessional.

Hail State

I walked back to the bedroom to tell Mrs Cane "welp, they got within 2 minutes of pulling it off"

Then I just stood in the doorway and watched the end in complete disbelief and shock

Morgan William is a Birmingham native. She says she wasn't even recruited by Alabama and Auburn because of her size. Oh do they feel stupid now.

Good thing y'all had us to do your heavy lifting. Had nothing left in the tank though for the championship games

It was actually a legit upset. They made some unforced errors, but MSU had an 18 point lead on them at one point. They stormed back (with the help of the officials) to force OT.

Yea, she owned us every time we played them. Just didn't have an answer for her.

I woke up my house at about 11:30 or so yelling "HOLY shite SHE MADE IT!!!"

I was getting so sick of the announcers and refs at the end.

The wife drug me to that game. Glad I went in hindsight. Definitely wasn't expecting to get so into the moment for a different team, let alone WBB.

Or is it the other way around??

Wait a few months and find out, I'm predicting EdO's pants are on fire during the trip from Starkville back to BR.

We should be vastly improved over when we played you guys last year.

I was there in one of the suites. The environment was crazy. It was like every team or fan there other than UCONN was rooting for us. When Morgan hit that last shot, the place erupted and it was an experience I'll never forget.

I felt awful for Morgan seeing her on the bench for almost the entire 3rd and 4th quarters of the championship game.

Did any info ever come out about that?
