If Bama wins and Clemson wins solidly, Washington will be 4th, due to weaker strength of record.

I think that will happen, although Ohio State (frick them to hell) is the better team.

Talk us through that logic. Bama and Clemson have nothing to do with Washington's seed unless one of them lose

I think it's a possibility. People right now are talking like that's impossible, but if Clemson wins and Penn State wins the Big Ten, it's a real possibility that tOSU drops to fifth.

Current rankings:
1) Bama
2) OSU
3) Clemson
4) Washington

Ohio State is done. Washington won tonight and is done. If Bama and Clemson win, the top four rankings will most likely be the same as they are now.

It's because the CFP Commitee ranks the teams based on their win/loss resumes (strength of record). Conference championship is merely one of several tie breakers used only if teams' resumes are essentially equal.

Washington's resume has now improved enough to secure them at #4, but their resume still won't be better than or equal to any of the three teams ranked ahead of them.

Also, if Bama and Clemson win, the winner of the Penn State vs. Wisconsin game won't get in, because adding a top-10 to their resume won't be enough to make up for having two losses.

Bottom line: If Bama and Clemson win tomorrow, the current top four is not likely to change at all.

Yet OSU will have lost to PSU.

If PSU wins, they're in.

The committee is not going to be responsible for or even accused of destroying the value of conference championships, particularly those decided by a championship game.

If PSU wins that will happen and rightfully so.

I watched the 1st half of that game last night. Those 2 PAC stalwarts looked like high school teams. My prediction is that Bama will beat Washington worse than they will beat Florida today. And my SEC CG prediction is 48-3 Bama.
