First he signed with Florida, and then Auburn. He must have really had it against UGA/Richt to sign with not one but two of their biggest rivals. Were the Dawgs ever in the mix for his signature?

The only one who could ever teach me, was the son of a preacher man.

Cam wasn't a very sought after commodity from JUCO, if I remember correctly. His main recruiters were MSU/OK/AU. The theory was, JUCO QBs don't work in the SEC. Only after Cam did well and the MSU stuff came out did the talking point shift to AU had to pay for his services.

Preseason though, this place was full of how desperate AU was for taking a JUCO QB. Once that talking point proved to be a crock of shite, it shifted entirely to AU had to "cheat" to get a "once in a lifetime" QB.

No, clearly he only liked programs with NC potential. UF, Blinn, AU....

All that may be true, but wasn't he a 5 star guy in high school? Figure Richt would have been all over Cam as a qb, being he was a Georgia boy (no racist). And Richt is a good judge of qb talent imo.

No way was Cam ever going to sign with those perennial losers

Yeah, he was, but he really fit nowhere in UGA's scheme.

In hindsight, I'm sure he could have found a place for him, but all things considered, Malzahn was the best thing that could have happened for Cam.

I'll say no. But if you ask him he'll say " It's an on going investigation."

No, out of HS he was a 4 star, maybe one site had him high but not his average. He was a 4 star on 247 out of Blinn as well. The way the narrative shifted to Auburn had to buy him was always amazing to me, from narrative to Auburn is desperate going after him.

Dawgs wasn't hurting for a QB, Matthew Stafford was a freshman when Cam was being recruited.

Richt finds and develops good qbs, I'll give him that. It just seems like they would have been the very first ones to find and offer him. And I doubt the competition with Stafford would have disuaded Cam. Maybe he just wanted to be a spread qb.
