Clearly Alabama's success in the 30's-present was because LSU was down. Silly bammer.

You weren't here during that time. Pretty much every Bama fan on this board from 2007-08. When Saban was hired, all of LSU's success the previous 6-7 years was discounted and co-opted by Bama fans and this line of reasoning was used constantly.

You should throw out arguments from either fanbase during that time period. This board was just a flame fest between LSU and Bama over the Saban hire then.

True.

There is much less flaming now between LSU and Bama.

Yes.. when LSU was down it helped Alabama. When Alabama was down it helped LSU. It should be obvious.

Yeah you're claiming 08 and 09 were good years for Bama because LSU was "down". Even though they had no reason to be "down". Yet you completely discard Bama's situation when LSU was successful. Later.

LSU was down because Miles booted RP off the team. It would be the equivalent of kicking Gmac off of the Bama squad the year after JPW graduated and you guys won it all. Oh, Saban left us in quite a hole with the recruiting class from 2005 too.

But man that 2008 defense was just atrocious Of course both teams benefit from the other team having a down year.. that's a tough game and a tough rivalry.

If LSU beats Bama this year in Tuscaloosa, you can definitely say that LSU will have gained the upper hand in the rivalry. Thoughts?

Here are my thoughts ...

RP's departure killed LSU for a couple of years.

Had RP played in 2009, LSU would have kicked the living shite out of Alabama and took another crystal BECAUSE in addition to a solid offense, The 2009 LSU defense was the best over the past 4 seasons statistically allowing only 16 points per game.

But RP was a PLAYA and loved his casinos, yadayadayada ... and Bama got their first crystal after their recovery over "too light a punishment" over the Means incident ... They shoulda GOT DEATH ... So Bama, the dirtiest cheatingest buncha mongrel mofos on the NCAA planet got their little digs in and took a crystal ... Not to be outdone, LOWDER opened the pursestrings and BOUGHT him a QB and many others ... OK they can cheat and they lie and play all the BS games they want ...

But when LSU has a QB and an offense to go with an EVER-PRESENT GREAT LSU Dee and unbelievable athleticism, it's a lock that we rock in Atlanta

frick THESE ALABAMA AZZHOLES ... WHICHEVER DIRTY SCHOOL THEY GO TO

LSU is the premier Program in the SEC and the Party is scheduled for NEW ORLEANS and this team will bust up anyone who stands in their way

No, I mean the recent past. The past 8 years. I defined it fairly specifically.

I love it when people want to talk about the past, but only the parts of the past which bolster their argument.

Congratulations. Your OP and the whole thread have succeeded in being terrible.
