Bateman looked good in the Spring game. Not first team all college football mind you, but just that you see a lot of talent there. He was just inconsistent and made a few foolish plays as well. He could use another year to develop but I really like having him on our depth board. He showed a very nice arm at times.


The report probably is partially due to Coker overthrowing his WRs. This seems to be a theme thus far more evident, and backed up by a previous small sample of video, than the written hype. Its going to be up to Coker to distance himself from Bateman and Sims and prove he can be more consistent with his throws.

Its not going to solve any issues for 2014 but we do have very nice depth going forward with Bateman, Cornwell, and the high school commit.
