Why did you schedule Sam Houston Tech Community College for the Blind and Mentally Impaired?

Butch is all about neutral site games in our main recruiting areas.

2015 - Nashville
2016 - Battle at Bristol (VaTech)
2017 - New Georgia Dome (GaTech)
2018 - Charlotte (WVU)

How many of these games will he get to coach?

I don't make the schedules

I'm not sure why you're worried about our schedule since the original comment you responded to was posted by a Bama fan

Isn't there also some issue with the city of Knoxville regarding an event tax or sales tax on the tickets for games played in Neyland? I had read this was a major driver in attempting to schedule one game a season either in Nashville or other locations (Bristol, Charlotte, etc.)

There is some sort of entertainment tax for Knoxville and Knox Co that people get upset about. If I remember right, season ticket holders that don't live in Knox were especially upset by it, but it brings in quite a bit of money for the city/county.

So yeah, I guess scheduling a neutral site game every year would cut cost some. Other than that, I'm not too familiar with it.

Bowling Green beat Indiana. Indiana beat Mizzou

Bowling Green > Mizzou

Mizzou > UT

Sounds like you will open 2015 with a loss there bruh.

Nashville isn't a neutral site game for us.

Why in Nashville?

The city of Knoxville is the only place in the SEC and nation that charges a tax on entertainment/sports held on a state campus - aka UT. It's an old tax that was weasled into the state legislature many years ago but it winds up meaning we're the only team that gets taxed on tickets.

The university has been trying to get the city to change this for years but the city won't (they're dependent). The solution for UT is to simply schedule neutral site games and avoid the tax until the city gets the message. And part of the deal with LP getting tax dollars long ago was that all the universities could use it - otherwise the state refused to allocate funding.

Tennessee is too scared of playing Baylor. It's not like Baylor couldn't buy out Lamar (actually, they probably couldn't)

Yep. The reason we're having to play Bowling Green is because you axed UAB.

We're playing Oklahoma and have had the toughest schedules in CFB 2+ years running. We're known for playing anyone any time much to our own detriment. You really don't want to compare schedules with us.

We're one of the teams the schedule argument is laughable to use against.
