They recruit a few out of Ohio that aren't elite and a few instate that are usually not top 5 or 10 at their position, then the rest are from other southern states and they recruit some from California and a few from NE states.

You really don't have a clue, so you'd be wise to not speak of things you don't know anything about. This ain't correct.

Yeah he gets it. The posters that use the "UT doesnt have great in-state talent, so they are disadvantaged" crap come off as SEC newbs to me. Anyone who knows the SEC knows that UT has been fully aware for decades of it's lack of instate talent within a 4-5 hr drive mainly. The recent talent uptick is just a positive, but doesn't have the UT dedication though. Which is one counter to saying UT can depend on it, and stop it's national recruiting.

UT wrote the handbook on national recruiting.

It's not merely that Tennessee has a lack of in-state talent. Many Tennessee fans buy in to the myth of allegiance simply because of state borders. The cold reality is that a 4 star player in Memphis is closer to 75% of the teams in the SEC than they are to Knoxville. Washington, DC is almost as close to Knoxville as Memphis is.

Lol the midstate produces way more talent than Memphis atp. It's not 2000 anymore. Go look at the next two instate classes in Tennessee and compare to Alabama, Mississippi and South Carolina

Wow. It's unbelievable that Alabama was able to win a national championship in 1978 and 1979 with a total of almost 40 out of state players on its roster, including players from Illinois, California, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, and Virginia...including probably the best center to ever play in the NFL...long before this amazing handbook was written.

Sure it is. But they have no natural allegiance to Tennessee either.
