Shoop really has... for a guy with an offensive background, James Franklins offenses suck... even with a potential NFL QB.

i thought he ran a 3-4 too until I googled it bro lol. After some research, It looks like Shoop runs a base 4-3 with a lot of nickel. Maybe there won't be too much of a transition if that's the case

Our DC isn't the issue. He is one of our strong points. We need a better wr and oline coach

Gotcha. That would erase any hesitancy I would have about the hire. I don't want to transition from the 4-3 to the 3-4, tbh. He has always had some salty defenses. As much as I hate to admit it, I was really impressed with what he did at Vandy given their talent. He has been crucial in Franklins success, IMO. Would love to have him

This hire, and the hire of Wisky's DC, is why the B1G is behind the SEC. Gotta pay these guys to keep them in the conference.

I'm with you. The more I read about this guy the more I want him to come to Tennessee. Looks like Shoop personally handles the defensive backs so Willie could be out too.

Penn State hasn't been as talented the last 5 years or so as they have historically been. However, their Ds are consistent top 20 units. Larry Johnson is probably responsible for a lot of the better DL guys, but their D is always sound. With the Tenn talent he can do some good things I would think
