It's actually the opposite, we've downgraded capacity, but Bammer spread myths die hard.

In all seriousness, I don't have a clue as to what you're complaining about other than maybe steepness. But that steepness actually gives a better view than a lot of large stadiums because you're closer to the field.
The concourses are way too small. You can barely walk three wide. Causes terrible bottlenecks. The steps are very steep, narrow, and on top of that, PAINTED. Multiple people slipped on the steps near us because they were wet. My dad, who's handicapped, nearly fell quite a few times. The upper deck is steep, which does keep you closer to the field horizontally, but it also makes it one of the two tallest stadiums in the SEC. So you are still far as shite from the field. I've sat in the upper deck twice and in the lower seats twice. The lower seats are better and don't have any of the problems I already mentioned, but it still seems like a run down stadium.

On another note, does any other SEC stadium besides Neyland still have troughs in the bathrooms?

That said, most everyone else either likes or loves their experience at Neyland. We still need to upgrade one of the concourses (the other has already been done) but all I ever hear from visitors is how much they love Neyland and the atmosphere it provides - the sole exception are a few SEC fans who repeat old stories. Hell, I've even heard some of them bitch about things that don't exist or had been changed years ago.

The majority of this board disagrees with your statement.

The campus was fine and the fans were great. Doesn't change the fact that the stadium is a dump.

Sounds like you've sat in the south endzone, which is about to be renovated after the season along with the east side( where visitors section is)

After the renovations, I'd say the troughs will be gone

I highly disagree. I went yesterday as well and the stadium was outstanding. I was sitting in the Bama section in the upper deck and I could still see the field great. It's an awesome looking stadium from the inside. Neyland is classy and traditional. That place was the mecca of college stadiums long before most of the SEC started expansion projects. Who gives a shite about the multimedia?

Upper deck is scary, VERY steep not to mention the "hump"going back from the seats inside.

I liked that it was steep. If you are scared of heights that is your problem. I could see the field much better from the upper deck in Neyland than I could the times I have had to sit in the upper deck of Bryant Denny. I also love the way the ramp took you straight up into the upper deck instead of having to walk up a spiral.

UT is one of the ugliest campuses in the SEC. The buildings all seem to be from different eras and have an old, retro feel. Urban campuses can be incredible experiences, but if the city is Knoxville...not quite. It's a shame the riverfront is ugly and industrial. It could be like the other exciting, lively riverfronts in this country.

Also gives you a great view of the river and landscape as you walk up.

It is a verified FACT that Neyland is a rotten old piece of shite.
