VOL fans..please explain your happiness with mediocrity under Butch Jones.

I don't get it. Dude has put together huge recruiting classes but hasn't performed on the field at all and yet you guys seem to be quite happy with him 
2013 Record: 5 wins; 7 losses. SEC record: 2 and 6
2014 Record: 7 wins; 6 losses. SEC record: 3 and 5
0-5 record against top 25 teams in 2014.
What gives??

Because we haven't recruited at this level constantly since we dominated the SEC. That's why we are excited and we have every right to be.

We just love mediocrity - it's what we're used to, so we hired a coach just like Derek Doolander - open the dictionary to "mediocrity" and there's ole Derek Doolander's picture!

Surprised it took this long to get a dumb-arse defensive reponse. In case you didn't notice - our offense was no "stacked roster" after losing Met, OBJ, Landry, and Hill. Arguably one of our weakest years for sure. but instead of giving your intelligent thoughts on the problem yall have with Butch.....oh wait, sorry, i used the word 'intelligent" when referring to a vol fan. Silly me.
Also...incase you didn't notice - Miles got a ton of heat in BTR this year about the offense and the losses no one was happy....many said LSU fans were irrationally unhappy and had unrealistic expectations this year because of all the talent lost. But hey...ya'll keep the sunshine pumping while Butch lays those bricks

I hope they continue to recruit well so we don't all have to listen to how there were "no good players" for Butch. And yet some programs have not sucked when operating without top 5 classes. Examples
Gary Pinkel
Hugh Freeze (First year he inherited a class in the 40s)
James Franklin did more with less
Maybe Butch is just a bad coach?

Not every school has a coach like Les Miles that can thoroughly dominate lesser coaches.
I, for one, am willing to give Vol fans time to heal.

Derek Dooley is arguably the worst coach in SEC history, and the roster needed a complete overhaul.
Recruiting is great, and the progress is tangible. Most people like what he's done so far, but he'll need to produce at a high level if he wants to stick around for much longer.
