Just a question. With the amount of talent he pulls in, he should be getting 9+ wins each season. I would be pissed if he didn't. Just saying.

For the first time in many moons, I am expecting an Eastern division title and minimum of 10 wins. It's put up or shut up time for Butch Jones. VOLS have a top 5 roster in CFB, catch Alabama and Florida both in Neyland and we are no longer that young.

Should Tennessee have won 9 in 2014 or 2013 iyo?

Wasn't there a thread where fanbase collectively voted 8 wins haha? Seems like I remember this number and thread.

UT could honestly contend for a playoff spot. Butch will learn from his mistakes and they are stocked with blue chip talent. I think they will definitely win the east.

With the exception of the top 5 roster, I think this *should* be the opinion of most UT fans. Realistically, if they don't win the east and have at least an outside shot at the playoffs, I would be pissed were I a UT fan. With UF possibly gaining momentum with another good season next year, UGA replacing staff and uncertain, it's time to capitalize or GTFO.

Follow up question though: If UT fails to produce next season, do you still consider Butch a good hire or just another in a string of bad hires following letting Fulmer go?

They are the overwhelming favorite to win the East and maybe the SEC. Bama is losing a lot but they just reload, the Vols have the talent on paper to make the playoffs next yr. I'm sure Vols fans hope Sutton and Kamara return but I could see both of those guys entering the draft.

They get everybody in Knoxville besides UGA but the dawgs more than likely will be starting the true frosh Eason at QB, we will find out if Butch can coach next season.

The only teams in the country that I would say have more talented depth than VOLS next year would be Alabama, Ohio State and maybe LSU.

Agree.

Even if Butch doesn't get Tennessee over the hump with an SECC, it still can't be grouped in with the Dooley hire. Jones inherited a flaming dumpster fire with no extinguisher in sight and will at least leave the cupboard stocked for the next guy.

Good Question. This is the judgment year. He gets free passes for his blunders so far (assuming he learns from them) If we win 7-8 games next season, most will realize that he is a above average recruiter, a decent coach, and someone who embraced the players, program, and fanbase as best he could. But one that cannot get the program to where our expectations are (IMO: be in the top 3 in the east every year, win the east 1 out of every 3 years, SECC 1 every 4-5 years, mentioned in playoff contention) etc. He will not be considered a bad hire, and he didn't do anything to intentionally screw up the program like Dooley and Kiffin did. Id say a solid hire who stocked the cupboard for the next guy but just couldn't get it done in the way we wanted to.

I think most have come to terms with Sutton leaving since he was a 1st round projection in McShay's latest mock. I'm more worried about hanging onto Kamara and Reeves-Maybin.

How many murders will UF players commit this off-season? I'm setting the over/under at 3.

Look, for a barb to be funny or on target, it needs to be related to a persistent trait or recurring event - or at least an isolated event that is funny. Otherwise you're just pointing out anomalies which don't distinguish a program.

AH was a blip in UF's history and as of now we only know that he killed someone after he left UF. So, you're also missing the mark here by highlighting something that was not done by a Gator player. AH was gone by that time.

It's just sad to watch you Vols struggle with the basics in life.
