and goes 8-4 or 9-3, do you fire him? I think it's quite obvious anything worse than 8-4 is a sure thing he's gone.

What if he goes 2-10 with the only 2 wins being over Bama and UF?

I remember somebody else asking that question about Jones in another thread and I thought it was hilarious.

bc of those 2 games?

Trust me, I fully understand having a game or 2 that you're sick and tired of losing. But Butch at present has UT in better shape than they've been in a decade. If yall go 9-3 with losses to UF, bama, and UGA (not stirring the pot here, that isn't some crazy unrealistic scenario) you'd still want him gone?

No. Especially if Tennessee suffers some serious injuries. A little bad luck can ruin any team's season.

"Too many injuries" gonna be a new thing to replace the "team being young" motto?

-I said at present. He has improved them every year and by all accounts this is the best team UT will field since what...2007?

-He inherited a dumpster fire and has slowly but surely gotten them to be respectable again

-I said they're better off now than they have been in a decade. Does the shape/current/future outlook of UT football look better now than it has any season since 2007? I don't see how you could answer no.

If he can't get it done, there's tons of talent on the roster to get rid of him and bring someone else in without skipping a beat.

But that requires bringing in a capable replacement and tbh I don't think Hart is capable of such a task.

Yes. The only reason he looks good is because he's being compared to Dooley. I would say he is probably the most likely reason Tennessee will fail to reach expectations this year if they do. A functioning retard could put up 8 wins with this team against this schedule. 9 is not much better and would prove he is not the answer.

Tennessee would have won 10 games last year with a competent head coach imo. This is his last chance to prove he is not a disaster in my eyes.

If I was a UT fan, yes. Those are the only 3 teams worth a shite on their schedule. Jones has been a master of "saving his season" by beating shite teams at the end

I described him yesterday as a turd with a megaphone.

I did not say that because I dislike UT.

This is Tennessee's most talented team since 2004, if not 01/02. The 07 team was pretty meh talent wise on the offensive side of the ball and propped up only by Cutcliffe.

It's in good shape but I don't see how firing him after a bad season would halt that. To lose 3-4 games would almost assuredly be squarely on him.

Hard not to worry imo when you have a coach who kicks a FG from the inch line against Oklahoma at home in the 1st quarter and who doesn't know to go for 2 up 12 with 8 minutes left in a game.

With all else equal it is easily the biggest mismatch on the field for this team.
