According to Finebaum today, Dooley wants to dismiss many of the players who were involved in the bar last Thursday night, but Tennessee AD Mike Hamilton is not allowing him to do so. Pathetic if true.

If that's the case, then fricking make them quit. Surely there's some older players on the team who can put them in their place during practice. Or just make them run stadiums for a while.

It's how we got Deron Furr off our team.

Finebaum is not what I call a credible source. But if there is an ounce of truth to this. Hamilton should be shown the door along with the players.

Dooley will not stay long, if crap like this is going on. He don't roll like that.

They probably gave the kids benefits and Hamilton is scared they may rat them out to the NCAA.

If true, Dooley should go ahead and start looking for a job because it will not work if he can't run his team the way he sees fit.

And I guess you're on the fire Crowton bandwagon as well. What has Dooley proven?

Dooley 17-20 at La. Tech
Crowton 21-13 at La. Tech.

I actually kind of believe this. Finebaum isn't as dumb as people on this site make him out to be.

If he said that, and not in a sarcastic or kidding way, I believe him. Like another poster said, he's good friends with Mrs. Dooley and for all the shite he stirs, he's usually got decent info and is a great interviewer. Dooley will be gone in a year or two if this turns out to be true, or Hamilton will be gone. One or the other.

People may not like Finebaum but he is not one to just make shite up. He likes to stir the pot with his opinion but as far as facts go, he probably did hear this from someone close to the situation. I didn't listen to him yesterday, did he make a big deal about it? This really needs to go national because it is absolutely ridiculous for an AD to take the coach's authority away in this manner. Unbelievably stupid decision on Hamilton's part.

I thought Hamilton was walking on thin ice as it is... I don't understand why he's still there, or why they continue to let him make decisions that are clearly wrong for the program.

That blows my mind too. He's been nothing but a total mess for the last 5 yrs. He took forever to do what needed to be done with Fulmer, then the Kiffin fiasco. I thought he made a good decision with the Dooley hire, but now if he's not letting him run the football program...It's like they're doing their best to be worse than Bama was in all of it's misfires.

What I have heard from people who have ties to the program is that Dooley does want the players who were involved in the physical altercation gone....but Hamilton isn't allowing it just yet because he knows more situations like this are bound to happen and he doesn't want dismissal to be the immediate ruling on everyone who screws up.

Hamiltons days are numbered there, imo.

The AD hired Kiffin. He should resign.
