A dude pissed on my boot at the Falcons game two years ago at the troff in that dump of a stadium, said "F the Falcons!" and scurried away before I could finish my business and deal with him properly.
That's kinda funny.

Always had fun in Tuscaloosa but in 2009 the fans were just unbearable. Had an awful time. And it wasn't even students. It was that trashy portion of the fan base.
It's funny because I had the same experience with LSU fans at that same game. A group of about 6 LSU fans were walking around BDS yelling "Tiger Bait" in the face of every man, woman, and child they walked by.

I hate the trashy fan argument. We all have them.
It's the same damn people in different colors for the most part.

I've only had two bad trips in my travels across the conference. Ole Miss in '03 (Eli tripped over his jaw game) and UF in '08 I think. It was the biggest game at Ole Miss in probably 40 years and it brought every sack of shite and normal peoples inner sack of shite out of the wood work. I was propositioned to fight no less than 4 times just walking to the stadium. Chicks in $500 dollar dresses were calling any woman wearing purple and gold a fricking count and or skank. It was truly out of control that day.
UF really wasn't the fans even though they do have an over abundance of arse hats compared to other schools, it was more the police and their willingness to harrass anyone not wearing blue and orange. It was really a pathetic sight and not good for business or return trips at all.

You let that get to you? I take it you've never been to gameday in BR

easily the worst road trip in the SEC.

The fact they were doing it unprovoked to women and kids, yes that got to me. But I know it was just a few bad apples and not representative of the fanbase as a whole

That doesn't suprise me to hear that about that game. I usually defend my fellow fans but Bama fans seemed unusually ornery after that game for some reason despite the win. The only explanation I can come up with was a lot of pent up frustration from a sizable home losing streak to LSU was vented at LSU fans. That's not to excuse Bama fans though as I did think we were kinda crappy and inhospitable towards LSU after that game in particular for some reason. I haven't sensed the same tension amongst Alabama/LSU fans regarding any other games. Even 2011 as big a game as it and as crushing a defeat as it was didn't produce the ornery attitude among Alabama fans afterwards that 2009 did.

They have a beach, too. All on Lake Tuscaloosa.
That's the thing about Tuscaloosa. Many visitors who simply come in to town from I-59 never see 95% of the nice areas of the city and have no clue about Lake Tuscaloosa and the Northriver Yacht Club area. There are neighborhoods around Lake Tuscaloosa as nice as any in the entire state.

Btw, Kozys closed.
That's ashame. Although expensive, that place was on par with some of the better fine dining restaurants you'd fine in much larger cities. I wonder why it closed.

Are we talking about jon boats with bimini tops here?
maybe not that much redneck, but I doubt there are bigger boats than about 21 footers. It's only on Lake Tuscaloosa, which was formed when the North River was dammed. nice golf course, too. Gary Player designed, iirc.
