-Butch Davis was never formally interviewed or considered apparently.
-Troy Calhoun of Air Force was apparently the second choice behind Kiffin.
-Fulmer trashes Kiffin, calling him immature at least and possessing poor judgement at worst. Says Kiffin won 5 games while he won 150+.
-Basically says Mike Hamilton is a slimy businessman who never played sports and that his former coach Dickey wouldn't have fired him because he knows about football.
-Fulmer is still very hurt by the firing, choking up during the interview(which took place several months after the firing).

-the AD Hamilton had compiled a revolving list of the top 30 possible coaching replacements if he decided to fire Fulmer at least two years PRIOR to the 2008 season. Fulmer was on the hot seat going into '08.
-Also, Kiffin has reached out to fulmer to have a sit down meeting to discuss the job but Fulmer has ignored his requests.

How does he explain the contract extension and raise then?

Here's my take. Fulmer got what was coming to him after he stabbed Johnny Majors in the back. He deserved it...karma and all that. On the other hand, Hamilton really fricked up by getting Kiffin to replace him. They could have done WAAAYYY better than Kiffin. So I'm glad Fulmer got fricked over and I'm glad Hamilton is fricking moron who is obviously impressed by big flashy promises with little substance. All in all, it's a win/win for Bama.
