Very bad games from the SEC this week.

You can't deny the complaining from other conferences.
Just add an extra conference game for everyone (even if it has to be drawn at random) and I think we fix this mess.
A pod system would work perfectly.

The SEC should set a standard for future scheduling.
We are the most powerful conference right now, but things change.
Let's change for the better.

I am speaking to the "downvote":
You can't deny that these are horrible games this late in the season.

cupcakes are scheduled for a reason, the boys need a rest.

Then alleviate the cupcakes and add byes.
That is why we went from the 10 season schedule into the 12 season schedule in the first place, wasn't it.
The only problem is that the cupcakes are actually beating us.
Get rid of the cupcakes.
Like you said...we are tired.
That is for a reason.
Athletes from everywhere are getting better by the day.
Just see Boise State.
Their success doesn't mean they play weekend after weekend in a conference like the SEC.
They basically play no-one outside of one or two games a year.
I just don't think we should be playing these sorts of games any longer.

Never understood why it matters when teams play a cupcake.
Week 1:
Alabama vs USC
Ole Miss vs Florida State
Auburn vs Clemson
LSU vs Wisconsin
South Carolina vs Vanderbilt (conference game week 1)
Texas A&M vs UCLA
Georgia vs North Carolina
Missouri vs West Virginia
Meanwhile, Michigan played Hawai'i. Ohio State played Bowling Green. Penn State faced Kent State. Indiana hosted FIU. Maryland played some guy named Howard. Michigan State and Furman hooked up. Nebraska entertained Fresno. Iowa played Miami...of Ohio. Northwestern paid Western Michigan to visit them and kick their arse. Illinois enjoyed one week as a winning football team by scheduling Murray State. And finally Purdue purdid against Eastern Kentucky...the worst of the directional Kentuckys.
Minnesota, Rutgers and Wisconsin were the only teams that played a Power 5 opponent in week 1 and one of those opponents was fricking Oregon State.
And all this was during the so-called "GREATEST OPENING WEEK IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL HISTORY". I'd say most of the teams in the SEC deserve a week off.

Meh,it's the first day of gun/deer season in Alabama, and a cold front is coming through.I'm glad there aren't any great games today.

They will forget nontheless this time of year and will slam and degrade the SEC in any way necessary.
That is just the Northern style.
I have lived up there many years in Ashtabula, OH.
They always get cranky this time of year while waiting for snow.

Well of course they "forget". Just like Ohio State fans have forgotten all about how wrong it was for Alabama to play for the national championship without winning its own division a few years ago.

Nice cherry picking of week one. If I'm not mistaken didn't teams like Michigan, Ohio state, Michigan state, etc play Oklahoma, Colorado, notre dame and on and on in weeks two or three
And they still play a nine game conference schedule

Mizzou did a whole helluva a lot of winning here and in the XII scheduling all of their cupcakes early.
It allowed them to ease into things and work out the kinks before conference games started.
I really don't give a damn what the networks want, I wish we'd keep scheduling the XII way.

I think Saban and Bama are the only SEC program in favor of this.

I would really like the scheduling to change so that athletes would be able to play each SEC school within a 4 year span, if they were to stay. I don't know if that is possible, but it would be really cool for the athletes.

Very much this. There are some teams that hardly ever play now. Arkansas might as well be in a different conference then Vanderbilt or Kentucky in football. We generally tend to have very fun games with Kentucky, I'd love to see them on our schedule more often.
Or, for that matter, match ups like LSU and Georgia happening more often.
If we are going to play turd teams late in the season, which is fine, I hope that in the future they spread the poo out a bit more then this weekend.
