Well they cant hire Newton, so Malzahn is the next best thing.

Neither is Chip Kelly. Why would a HC leave a team he just put into the NC game in his second year in office? Florida is looking for a good coach with either a connection to the school, at a program that has hit the ceiling, or a great assistant coach.

Im surprised that Gruden isnt being mentioned any. I know he turned down the U, but UF is as close to the NFL as it gets and he gets to keep his family in Florida

Its more perplexing than anything. If you think he is a long shot, you put him up with longshot odds. This seems to indicate that he is more likely, not less likely imo.
