Vanderbilt (baseball) and most importantly.. They hold the conference up in academics.

That is all well and good but being the only private school in the conference shields the entire conference from FOIA requests and other invasions by the public eye.

It only provides cover for intra-conference communication. It does not protect public schools from their own school-specific FOIA requests.

I was speaking of the home office in Birmingham.

They were saved by a rainout on Sunday. They got a walk off in the Monday resumption and then got a solo homer to break up a no hitter. If you think they are clearly the best then you don't watch many of their games. You especially haven't watched them squeak their way out of losses in Omaha this year.

They're hitting .177 in Omaha. What a joke!

Just got done commenting on your melt in the other thread. Almost every LSU poster I've ran into on this site is pretty classy. I guess every fanbase has some real punks, though. I can't help it that God is a Vandy fan and we have premium pitching. Wait 'til the bats heat up too.

I mean what bowls did y'all make?

That's why a new bowl seemingly appears every few years, for the less fortunate to feel relevant. Vandy has to know, with their vast intellect, that their programs can't exist without the sharing of revenue from the SEC. What would their baseball program be without help, or their basketball programs or softball programs?

Just survive and advance. To be 2-0 in Omaha after facing 3 of the best pitchers in the country is impressive.

I will admit we have the worst softball program in the SEC.

Vandy's little lucky streak is about to come to a swift and brutal end after LSU eliminates TCU

Ha I was wondering if anyone would catch that. I knew you didn't have one. Lucky you guys didn't hear from the NOW gang by "now".

It seems like all week the LSU fans have been supportive of Vandy for the most part. Now it's getting a bit more choppy. Somebody's getting worried.

Sorry. Not worried a bit. We didn't make it to Omaha playing as good as your team. So losing to you wouldn't hardly make me cry.

USCe is not the same with the new coach and are on a downhill slide currently.

And Florida hasn't won a championship I believe.

Vandy, LSU, Florida

Vandy has gotten hot at the right time for sure the lst two years.

SEC baseball is definitely on the upswing.

Since 2004 Vandy, South Carolina, LSU, Arkansas, and Florida have been to Omaha quite a few times. 3 of those teams have brought hardware home.

Florida and Arkansas just haven't been able to seal the deal, but both are two of the better programs in the nation.

Certainly those 5 programs in the last 10-11 years have made the SEC the premier baseball league.

Georgia and Mississippi State have both also played in the NCAA title series during that timespan. I'm still trying to figure out how Georgia blew that '08 title to a team with 31(!) losses...

His baseball equivalent was most definitely Dave Perno. He isn't even a good baseball analyst and that guy ran Georgia's program.

Thanks for letting me know you're the ultimate arbiter of class here on SECr. Riddle me this: Was anything that I said incorrect from a factual standpoint?

Did you not benefit greatly from the rain delay? Did you not get a walk-off to win in the resumption? Were your hitters not held to 3 total hits and no-hit into the 7th before squeaking out a solo-HR (before you quibble it was an absolute no-doubter in that park as well)? Is your team not hitting .177 in Omaha?

Would you say a team that has won on a walk-off and with a 1-0 score after being held hitless through 6 full and to only 3 in the entire game is "clearly the best"?

(Hint Hint: I know none of what I said isn't accurate. You know it, as well. I also know as fan of Vandy the bias you've got for your program-while admirable and like any other fan of a team here-isn't going to let you speak objectively regarding this)

Whether you've got the objectivity to admit it, you are very, very lucky to not be facing LSU in an elimination game on Thursday. As it is, you've got a clear, distinct advantage by having today and tomorrow off and forcing whomever comes out of the LSU/TCU rematch to beat you twice without their aces.

But clearly better? After a walk-off in a resumption where you were trailing 3-0 and then a solo tater to break up a no-no? That's not clearly to me. That's by the razor's edge, brah.
