Hearing from some people that it's either Jamey Chadwell or Clark Lea

So let me be the first to say "Welcome to Nashville new Vanderbilt head coach, Jim Schwartz!"

Jeff Monken would have been a good hire

On the player front: there are some Covid issues. There are also some defensive players who have opted out in the past 2 weeks.

Down to about 48 players I heard. Starting linebacker is a 5'11 185 pound corner. We have 5 D lineman, one of which was an O lineman vs Mizzou 2 weeks ago

I think the lack of players is a massive combination of the following:
-Sarah fuller issue (not even that she's a girl, just how it all went down)
- Mason fired. As bad as he was, some players liked him I guess
-Covid cases and issues
- support from the school. Big issues that aren't very public about the support from the admin and school
-one opted out to prep for draft. (Linebacker odeyingbo. Actually a stud linebacker)

I wouldn't be shocked if we don't play again unfortunately

Sounds like UAB circa 2014.

Yeah something about the locker room roof collapsing and taking weeks to fix, etc.

Crap like that.
Vandy has many problems when it comes to football. A new coach was very much needed (Mason sucked), but they really need an overhaul in that school. But don't see it happened. Football is just so far down the list of things they care about

If Vandy lands Chadwell after SC hired Beamer I am going to laugh

Do the admins not understand a competitive (6-6, 7-5) Vandy football team would attract so many students to the school? I get the admission standards make it hard to compete but if they ever went all in on football it would be easy to sell smart kids on football in the sec and in turn normal student recruitment would skyrocket and everyone would want to go to Vandy to get a good education but still be an SEC school.

Heard Chadwell indicated he would have accepted a job offer from us. He never cracked the final top 5 for us,tho.

I'm actually happy with Shane. Chadwell would never have had the same level of dedication to Carolina as Shane. Y'all forget how far things like that go with us whether you find it stupid to be that way or not.

Chadwell going from Coastal where partying in Dirty Myrtle is a pre-req to a bunch of nerds at Vandy would be a massive, possibly insurmountable shock to Jamey's system.

No offense to nerds intended.

It is stupid. Beamer having dedication doesn’t mean he’s a good coach. I promise nobody has more dedication to his job than Will Muschamp. Nobody works harder and you see how that worked out. Chadwell was a much safer hire under any reasonable circumstances. Beamer politiced his way to the head coaching job. Shows he’s a great salesman not coach. Don’t give him a free pass because you like him, liking him isn’t part of the job. I tried to warn you about Muschamp and you’re doing it again. Make him prove something first.

Good coaches coach doesn’t matter where they are. Chadwell is and will be fantastic. Vandy will be kicking your arse yearly if they hire him. Beamer is an unproven TE coach.

Only thing about Lea is he grew up in Nashville. Played at Vandy. He knows what he's getting in to and would have the pull to request some things be done that Mason didn't have.

I would be ecstatic with chadwell. Worries me he has no P5 experience but honestly, Vandy isn't your typical P5 school. Exciting offense. Can sell the program. Obviously took some lower recruits and sold them on winning at coastal and that's what has to happen at Vandy

I would be ok with Lea as well. Supposedly him and Corbin are close and come from the same mold in terms of running a team/program. Only concern here would be, even though he is from Vandy and played there, I just want an offensive guy.

I think Chadwell would be a great hire from a football standpoint. Not sure he fits the "culture" among Vandy's administration and student body.

One would think that all you'd care about was a coach winning games and running a relatively clean program. Unfortunately, it's 2020 and shite is getting weird.

I’m not convinced Dabo is a great coach but he sure as hell is a good salesman and surrounded himself with the right people. If we get the right coordinators we could be on the right track.
