Who said that? Pretty damn funny.

Remember that scene in "Animal House" where Pinto has the angel on one shoulder and a devil on the other while the underage girl lies passed out in the bed? Most guys (if you're honest) can identify with that temptation (well, maybe not underage but the passed out girl in your bed part). Thus it was a funny scene because there's always a heavy dose of truth in good comedy. But I'm pretty sure just about none of us can relate to a friend approaching us and saying "Hey man, my girlfriend is passed out. Do you want to bang her and treat her like one of those chicks in a Girls Gone Wild video? Well, except those girls have their eyes open. Did I mention she's passed out and she's my girlfriend? I'll watch and cheer you on!"

The fact that there were 3 more guys present at the time of the raping and none of them tried to stop it speaks volumes. Bates & Vandenburg were he main two - but there were two others there as well. Those other two shouldn't get a pass on this.

No doubt on this count. I think Vandenburg found a crew he could lead just like he found what he thought would be a good victim and you know, he might've been right about a gullible victim but then there was the video and photos and this case would've went nowhere without them, even if the girl started recalling bits and pieces which often happens with alcohol but it was more than alcohol in my opinion. And make no mistake, Vandenburg is the type of guy who knows how to charm, manipulate and in this case make even something heinous seem ok while it's happening. There's no telling if these were on coke or another hard drug, Batey's defense tried to make it about drinking but and I'm sure there was some but there's also the thing that a jury despises those who admit to hard drugs like coke or meth etc. (not that the "I was drunk" defense was any better in terms of outcome but it was better than claiming some other drug).

FWIW, this is Batey hugging his lawyer post-verdict (even with most of his face blocked you can see he feels the weight):

In contrast this is Vandenburg (not the only time he looks like this through trial either):

^^Those eyes say it all, imo.

Didn't slavery in north America start around 1619 and end in like 1865? Not quite 300 years.

If you count Barbados, West Indies, and Caribbean then you got systematic slavery by the mid 1560s.

In the "new world."

You beat me to it. All of these supposed history experts giving the LSU guy shite apparently think that the slave boats from Africa got here about 30 years before Columbus did...at least the guy with the 400 year crack.

Brazil didn't outlaw slavery until 1888.

And they didn't outlaw "preserving my manly honor" as a defense when you killed your wife and/or her lover until maybe 1988.

But Brazilians aren't Caucasian, so I don't know how relative their record on slavery is.

There's an entire colony of former Confederates that left after the Civil War and settled there.

"Confederados"

So maybe I should have said WASPs.

I wonder if the defense attorney made Batey lose the dreads.

I have this really sick feeling that had the roles been reversed, that statement would have been made the epicenter of the entire case.

You’re 100% right. They should burn that m’f alive.

If BLACK people didn’t SELL BLACK people on the African market, slavery would’ve never happened. Teachers don’t teach that in school. Native Americans were raped, murdered and burned. Their land was taken away. Jews were slaughtered and persecuted. Women were treated as an inferior gender. American born Japanese people were put in concentration camps during WW2. I mean JFC, black people need to look in the mirror for there own short comings. Now white people have become the target for the liberal media and underprivileged races. It makes me sick.

without question. race is such a one way issue currently. African americans need to either raise their bar when it comes to "leadership" or begin to take responsibility for their actions as PEOPLE not as poor downtrodden ex slaves.

some of them anyway.

You're not the first in this thread.

It's a good idea for a T-shirt though.
