The only surprise here is that a Vandy fan is admitting it. But reality is what it is. Vandy received a big fat payday from the SEC this year and future checks will only get bigger. I don't know where that money is invested, but it is not invested in improving our pathetic stadium or recruiting efforts.

And speaking of recruiting, Mason is not getting the job done. We just got 3 commitments from MAC-caliber players. Someone at Vandy must of told Mason that football will not get the same priority it did under Franklin. Maybe it is too macho of a sport for the politically correct crowd or someone believes football and academic success are mutually exclusive. There has to be a explanation because Franklin proved damn well that Vandy could compete if they wanted to. Just like TCU, Duke, Wake Forrest and Baylor compete.

Vandy fans can now expect another 60 years of losing culture. Which brings me back to my original point. If Vandy is not going to contribute, SEC fans of the other schools should start a petition to throw us out. You are getting robbed!

It is impossible to be a dominant school at every sport. Vandy is weak in football and always will be. It is what it is. Just accept it and move on with life.

Alabama sucks at plenty of sports and football is the king sport at that school even after a decade of a losing overall record.

No.

DiNardo proved it was easier to win at Vandy than other supposed elite schools.

Need to get rid of Mason and hire a coach that can develop talent on both sides of the ball. Take a risk and hire a HS coach.

#1 New bowling lanes and sweet bus for bowlers
#2 Free pens for wining a baseball Natty

I will say with the SECN money first priority should be updating the bathrooms in Memorial!

As for Mason, time will tell but personally not sure I would get a coach not used to playing SEC schools.

I've yet to meet a Vandy fan -- and I sure met a lot of 'em when I attended -- that wouldn't admit Vandy hasn't exactly been a football powerhouse over the last century or so. We're pretty sanguine about owning up to that.

TCU, Duke, WF, and Baylor have had varying degrees of success, mostly because they got coaches who could take advantage of specific offensive styles that gave them a fighting chance. So did we, for that matter, under Franklin. But none of the others have to deal with the SEC regularly, which is a bit of an advantage.

Vanderbilt hired a guy that wasn't prepared to be a head coach at a major university. He would have been ok at a Mac school but not the sec. I think he's in over his head.

Vandy is probably embarrassed to be in the SEC.

Admins from Vandy need to get on the phone with the admins at Stanford. It's possible to be both academically and athletically superior.
