isn't this an NCAA violation?

More importantly, I'd imagine it's a breach of contract. Nothing will come of it from that end though, and I doubt it could really be proved unless the texts/emails got saved somewhere. Honestly, most of us are pretty much ready to move on though.

I have no problem with James Franklin bringing kids he recruited to Vandy to PSU. Anybody who think it's not right or dirty needs to get there head out of the sand, if Saban or Miles or any coach left they would do the same thing. I just wish a coach could come out and say " yeah I took those kids because they could help me win and keep my job" which is the truth but ESPN and the PC police would say he's a bad guy when it's far from the truth.

It's sad but we think that a coach loves our school like we do, and they would never do anything to hurt our program. That is not the case. It is just a job to them. They have to do what is best for their future, because if they don't win, we don't care how much they love our school, we will fire them. Look at Mike Shula. He loved Alabama, and he came in when no one else would, but he couldn't win, and he was fired. I'm glad that we have Coach Saban, but I hate what was done to Coach Shula. It worked out for the best for all of us, but at the same time it was just sad.
I don't live with the fantasy that Coach Saban loves our university and would put it before his own future. He does a great job for us, and that is what he is paid to do. He isn't paid to love our school and put it before everything else. I wish that he did, but the days of coaches like that are gone. When we got away from only hiring coaches that had a history with Bama, this is the type coach that we get. It's just a job to them, and really that is all that we can expect.

I usually only catch Finebaum during the Jerry Springer call in part. He surprised me with the interview. He was tough and didn't let go.

I learned a long time ago that the ONLY reason to tune in to PF is for his interviews. The Jerry Springer shite is too much for the intelligent fan to absorb. PF does a damn good interview IMO.

I don't care if he "takes" Vandy recruits. The recruits are autonomous sentient entities -- Franklin can only convince them to choose PSU, and obviously they did so. I do care if he does this on our dime, and care if he unfairly negatively recruits Vanderbilt by contrasting it with PSU...in effect, trashing his old employer simply to make his mark with his new one.

Yeah, I'm going to try to keep track of who he interviews from now on, and have a listen on his internet site.

PF is the redneck Howard Cosell - a clueless arrogant loudmouth.

His interviews are only interesting when he shuts up and let's the interviewee do all the talking.

Well, it was a fair question that Franklin should have known was going to come up, sooner or later.

Kudos to Pawll.
