Vanderbilt is the largest employer in Tennessee.

The combined number of employees from the University, the 4 on-campus hospitals Vanderbilt operates and various clinics throughout Middle Tennessee, adds to an estimated 55,000. To put that in perspective the 2nd largest employer, Memphis based FedEx, only employs 30,000.

I thought Dollywood was the largest employer.

I thought it was that Ripley's Believe it or Not in Gatlinburg.
