Every game on the SECN this week/weekend the hosts were 'Tennessee will have to scratch and claw just to win this' others from SI to ESPN etc. had upset predictions. Plenty of media said we'd lose or barely pull it off.

This and the fact that the Rant was saying we would lose and then we win big and USU all of the sudden blows. I think USU is a lot better than they showed in Neyland.

I think it shows how far Ten has fallen. Hopefully Butch can turn this into cupcake games instead of 6.5 vegas lines.

They likely are. If you saw the game or replay, Keeton's frustration is early, often, and throughout that game. The D just never gave him a chance. AJ has been on a mission since he decided to come back his senior year and he had that defense working - he was on fire and the whole damn crew was on fire. THAT was the kind of leadership our defense has been missing for ages. They feasted off of that crowd too and there just wasn't much USU could do. Holding any team to 35 yards at the half isn't exactly easy to do. We didn't do that to Austin Peay and Peay was horrible.

Puhleeze. You turn the world against any fanbase and tell them they're gonna lose and see the reaction you get when it turns out they curbstomb the other team.

That's my point though. Butch inherited a team that was literally expected to lose to the third best team in UTAH. I haven't watched the game yet but I can about imagine USU wasn't expecting the speed and size of Tennessee.

Tennessee almost lost to South Alabama last year. They dominated Utah State from start to finish.

Lets not rain on UTs parade...besides I see some dark storm clouds brewing on the horizon.
I do think Jones is recruiting a lot of talent and if he gets them over the hump...will be like old times when UF-UT played

We've still got a ways to go. This year is not going to be particularly impressive.
But we're coming back. I've been saying that even since last year when we were getting manhandled by Oregon and Alabama and losing to Vanderbilt again. Rebuilds aren't pretty.
People were laughing at Alabama seven years ago. Not saying we're going to be that dominant (we won't be), but if you thought we were going to suck like we have the last several years forever, you were wrong.
