Cam Rising tore his ACL back in the bowl game. He's still questionable for the game against Florida on 8/31.

Now, they're backup was injured in practice with a lacerated liver.

Now you say, "wait, how does a QB get injured in practice?"

Well, Whittingham had the QBs live in the practice scrimmages. Rumors swirling around that a walkon might be the only option at least for week 1.

Cam Rising will start vs Florida, the question is his ability to run @ 100%. If suffers a set back, yeah the Utes are in trouble.

Find me anything relating to liver lacerations and covid vaccines. I'll wait.

There is basically no possible way he'll be at 100%. He had an ACL tear less than 8 months ago. It will be impressive if he plays at all, but you can count on your hands the amount of times someone has effectively come back so soon from an ACL tear.

If they're playing a walk on QB, none.

I had a good feeling about this game regardless, but I'll feel even better if they're playing their third string quarterback.

Are you trying somehow, in a roundabout way, trying to convince us that Florida will beat Utah, and that Billy Napier is a good coach? I don’t understand the thread

I've always wanted to play our best against their best. Maybe I'm just weird.

Not according to Utah posters on Rivals and r/CFB. Insiders say 50% chance Rising starts, otherwise Rose was predicted to start over Barnes.

Way to frick up a possibly great run this season. They have one of the best OL’s in the country. Their D is supposed to be improved.

If they were playing Ole Miss then that walk on would end up being the greatest QB in Utah history, win a Heisman and be a pro hall of famer

I'm hearing Cam will go and Bryson Barnes is QB2,

Who knows, but here are some links that support Rising at least starting the game.
