Did you know?

Since 2008, the Tennessee Volunteers are a horrid 33-41 in the sport of football?

How much is this costing? Looks like a really nice upgrade.

Don't most of the other SEC schools already have multiple practice fields? I fail to see how adding extra practice fields is equivalent to having the best in the country.

Listen Tennessee just has too many players for 11 to be practicing plays on the field at a time. This spills over to their games.

To be fair, that was as high as they could count.

Yes, the money is already there for this portion of the project. I'm not sure of the total cost

So, what makes those practice fields so special?

SO looking at a map, it doesn't seem like there is enough room between those streets

There's more than you think. You know where Stokeley Arena was? This is going to be built on top of that site. Stokely had to be razed - fire marsshall said nyet and it's taken years to raise the money to raze it because no one wanted to contribute to the destruction of Stokely (the state doesn't provide funding for razing sites only building things). Gibbs Hall is also being razed and new dorms built in its place.

Shields-Watkins field (Neyland Stadium) won't get as much wear and tear. Plus more indoor/outdoor fields. Why do we need so many? I have no freaking idea but Dave Hart really digs extra football fields.

Tennessee needs all the practice they can get so this makes sense to upgrade.
