A&M couldn't stop anyone running last year. I expect more of the same.

A&M D will improve a bunch as the year progresses and some of the outstanding younger talent gets acclimated...but "possibly" being without Golden & Claiborne in the 1st game will hurt.
Does NOT set up well for A&M at all this early in the year, new QB/ crazy Rd environment...we'd have a better chance later in the year, but in August, I say Cocks 38-24 or some such.

Ivan Robinson (DL) has been a steady contributor for 3 yrs, and is having some problems with a tender ACL that he tore a yr ago...he may be done.

Just wait until book four, which is perfect for a LSU fan that wants in on a thread about game not involving their team:

For the record, not expecting to win this game.
Glad we're starting the season off against a strong conference opponent, though. We'll see what we've got for USC and go from there.
More than anything, excited to start this series with Carolina. Always enjoyed watching them play, and now we get to line up against 'em year in and year out

Hate we missed the Clowney/JFF matchup, but excited to see the aggies in Cola. this year

Typically it's a low scoring game for us in the season opener but who knows. I don't know much about A&M's defense but I think our offense should score about 24-27 points. USC 27 A&M 17

Certainly the Cocks should have the edge as it stands for now but it all depends on how the questions are answered.
Will one of the 2 highly rated QB's from A&M be able to step in Game #1? Odds are no, but it won't be because of talent. Both Hill and Allen are very, very gifted players. One thing that will help is the A&M OL is looking like it will be every bit as good if not better than last season even without Matthews.
Will RSJ and Speedy be able to live up to the hype? Hard to bank on guys who are either Freshman or only played 1 game before being injured. Still, those 2 are truly elite WR talents that have ridiculous talents.
Will the A&M defense improve? This is the biggest question. The overall talent should be better but the key is going to be if they can plug up the run and manage to get a pass rush with Myles Garrett. Also, can the DB's actually cover anyone? A bigger concern than the QB issue honestly and by a good margin.
Will SC be able to not miss a beat without Shaw? This will be interesting. Shaw was such a heart and soul player for that team last year. It takes more than talent to replace him.
I don't think losing Clowney will really have much of an effect, Clowney seemed to be taking the year off last season anyway.
So USC should win but if A&M has good answers to those earlier questions then it could change things dramatically. Hard to rely on so much young talent though.

RSJ wasn't the #1 WR recruit
Was the 3rd best WR recruit in the division

Considering he didnt even play WR in high school, I think thats pretty good that he was only the 3rd best WR in the nation (as well as division).

He dropped in ranking because he was injured early in his Sr season, prior to that point he had a shot at being the Overall #1. He's an absolute freak. 6'6, 240 with virtually no body fat, Huge vertical and excellent speed. He really only had one play last year and it was a 70+ yard TD catch and run in the first half of the first game and he was hit from behind as he crossed the goal line and hurt his knee.
He may or may not work out but RSJ is an absolute freak talent.

No way you hold us to 17. Also, no way SC only scores 27. I'll say 48-41, Cocks. I was more hopeful prior to our losses on defense, but now I'm expecting a repeat of last year defensively.

Maybe we win, maybe we lose...but here is an awesome fact:
A vast sea of coonass misery will flow on Thursday night if A&M shows up and is better than everybody expects. Sumlin is so up in the heads of corndog nation that LSU fans will be maybe even more upset than Gamecock fans if A&M pulls out a win.
As for LSU, I have no idea who y'all are playing that weekend. Don't care.

From DMN. Maybe he didn't finish there but at one time he was number one. Regardless it doesn't take away from the talent at WR a&m has.
