ANYONE that said that the USC-AU game would have a 40 point difference either way is just plain DUMB!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not disagreeing with that. I'm just saying the logic behind "its possible" is not good logic. I'm not saying Auburn would have beaten USC by 40+.

I get what you are saying, but there is one important fact you and PJ are over looking. USC DID beat an undefeated, BCS conference champion 55-19, Auburn did not. To say "anything" could happen has to have some basis in reality. There is no way, any college team could have beaten that USC team by 40, sorry.
USC fans using the 02 and 03 games as "proof" they would have beaten AU in 04 is stupid too, but there is absolutely no way Auburn could have beat USC by as lopsided a score as USC beat OU.

I have to agree. And while it was evident when the season was over that Auburn should have been in the national title game, there was no reason at the time to think that USC and OU, being undefeated, were not the two best teams.

I did not see anyone say that. If you are referring to me, I said something to the effect that AU had just about enough.

Edit: I am pretty sure AU had just about enough of USC by that time (i.e., getting manhandled in two consecutive seasons with one being a shut out at Jordan-Hare)

USC was the best team in:

03
04
05

Two titles to show for it.

Not bad.

LSU got lucky in '07 (all title teams need luck don't they) and they split one in '03.

How ? Are you saying Kansas should have been #1 since they only had one loss ?

Best team means nothing.
Championship mean something
2003 - LSU
2004 - USC
2005 - Texas
2006 - Florida
2007 - LSU

What two titles?

I do believe we have 2 crystal trophies

Also, how dare you claim to be the best team in 2005. When y'all had a chance to win the BCSNCG and LOST to Texas. Didn't the best team win that game?

Best teams don't always win. Anyone that had played football or a team sport knows this for a fact

And USC's '03 championship is legit stop kidding your damn self. The only place it is not legit in is louisiana.

So you're saying Auburn should have been National Champion in 2004 instead of Southern Cal ?

AU doesn't even has an argument. Just because u make it out of the SEC does not mean you are one of the two best teams in america.

Contrary to SEC homers ideologies and beliefs, the two best teams can be from other conferences
