Per Al.com UA also recieved a letter from USC's AD. Sounds like Mr. Baxter just wanted to look important and made everything up.

Hope this makes front page news on ESPN, like the allegations did. What a bunch of tools out there.

From wearesc.com

quote:

Unbelievable. I have no respect for Meyer, but untrue accusations is certainly uncalled for coming from USC....let the SEC coaches play those games, this had better not be coming from our coaching staff.

quote:

It's not just odd....it is more serious than that. This is not the SEC, lies and deception in accusing anyone of doing something improper cannot be tolerated, especially from USC coaching staff or any coaching staff in the PAC-10.

Irks me no end to be brought so low that we must apologize to a sleazeball.

quote:

I think it is only a problem if apology letters get sent to all the schools that allegedly made contact. A blanket false allegation coupled with a "lost" phone would be a problem but I doubt for the school. SC promptly turned the matter over to the Pac-10. The staff knows that you don't need the phone for phone records.

I hate to speculate out loud but my fear when I first heard about the contacts and the lost phone was that the contacts were made but it wasn't the schools that contacted Dillion first, it was the other way around. Even the tweet states, "reports of UF illegally contacting recruit Dillon Baxter were untrue" It doesn't say "reports of UF contacting recruit Dillon Baxter were untrue."

Either Florida was mistakenly added to a list of schools that actually did make improper contact or Dillion got caught putting out feelers and made up the story not thinking it thru and not realizing what could follow.

anddddd... unrelated, another thread...

quote:

SEC, SEC, SEC

The next time we bitch slap an SEC team all over the field, and we will (again) soon, this is the chant that I hope to hear cascading throughout the Grey Lady: "SEC, SEC, SEC!"
Every jort-wearing, corndog eating, mullet sporting inbred will remember for the rest of their God forsaken lives that the arse beating they just received came courtesy of the University of Southern California.

I LOVE those quotes.

It was that SAME idiot that was doing the false accusing in the SEC, that is now doing it in the Pac-WhateverTheyAre. Lane Kiffin.

exactly. If I had an account over there, I'd point that out, but no time this morning to make one.

Cute

Meyer was at Utah - where is Utah now?

Kiffin was at USC, then Tenn, now back at USC

And who has the program with LOIC? Jesus trotards

They need to put these apologies all over ESPN and other news agencies. Show everyone what a little bitch Kiffie is. This Baxter probably wanted out and was hoping these colleges would contract him.

This apology sucks donkey dick. No intention of pursuing further? Really? Like you have a choice. I look forward to making fun of their sanctions. Something that as a Bama fan I do not take lightly.

From a UCLA Bruins website:

Southern Cal Forced To Apologize To Alabama & To Florida For More Recruiting Lies

quote:

Given that Lane Kiffin is now their coach and Mike "Haters to the Left" Garrett is still their AD, USC just might want to save some time and paper and make this a form letter for future use. "Dear [University Coach,] we apologize for the [insert accusation of cheating/ nasty and inaccurate public statement] made by [check a.) football coach Lane Kiffin b.) Athletic Director Mike Garrett]. Yours in victory, [USC official who acts like adult.]" It'd be the green thing to do, and will likely prove very useful over the next few years.

quote:

I am also wondering whether the Pac-10 commissioner Larry Scott will display some testicular fortitude and take the initiative by reprimanding Southern Cal in similar manner SEC did to Hello Kiffin last year (when he was lying about Urban Meyer). If Scott has any intention of making Pac-10 appear serious about its integrity then he would take such a step.

Alabama, Oregon, Washington and Fresno State also have confirmed receiving the letter of apology.
