3. Devin Leary (Kentucky)

Too high?

I hear he is accurate and strong velocity but that was against ACC schools.

It is a real wild card

He could be awesome.
He could be average

I just have no read yet

Didn't he get benched playing against B12 defenses? He will probably get the chance to carry a clipboard for a couple years, though. Heck AR got drafted last year.

I just don't understand the preseason hype of Carson Beck. He might well live up to it, but there's not much to go on there.

Has Kirby named Beck the starter? What hype?

No starter has been named, but Beck got the vast majority of reps with #1s in the last scrimmage and no reps with 2s or 3s.

The only hype would be dawg fans expecting to score 40+ ppg and Beck being a big part of that (QB... duh).

It isn't unreasonable for the rest of the conference to say "show me".
And it isn't reasonable for Dawg fans to say that our OL and receiving room are better than the past 2 years. What do you expect from a more prototypical NFL QB passer?

List doesn't include the SEC's all time passing leader.

List is shite.

You and I both saw a nice 20 yard run against South Carolina last year. Too bad he isn’t mobile

I agree that's not reasonable but do you really think they're taking a big step back?

Beck came in with the 2's in several games against ranked opponents who still had their 1's in on defense and tore them up. While you're correct that it isn't the best to go on, it is actual on-field play you can look at.

5-6 for 83 yards, 1 TD, 237 rating and 96 QBR vs Oregon.
5-6 for 55 yards, 1 TD, 215 rating and 96 QBR vs SC.
2-3 for 31 yards, 0 TD, 153 rating and 99 QBR vs TCU.

While there isn't a huge sample to go on, the sample that is there is impressive.

What hype? The starter at uga will probably be top 5. That’s just the way it is, but that’s not really hype

Milton will have better numbers that all of those and will be the highest NFL draft pick out of them.

"Better numbers..." Yep, and Tenn. had the best pitching staff in baseball last year. Pre season. Sound familiar?

I know some of these guys will get better or someone will come out of nowhere but when was the last time the sec was this weak at qb. Just looking at the names there isn’t a single one that jumps off the page or is a sure fire all American.

Will Rogers at 7 behind several guys who have barely or not at all played in the SEC is certainly a choice.
