Yup. Win and it doesn't matter. If you don't win, you don't get to pick what happens to you.

As much as I hate them the Gumps do deserve a BCS bowl after the year they had. I mean if NIU and Duke have a shot why not?

That right there pisses me off. I'd rather Baylor, Stanford, Arizona State or some other school get that spot. Well I guess Baylor can't get it. I believe projections have NIU going to Fiesta, so I know they'll face a Big 12 team.

Someone knew

While I was miles off on who would win, yes Cotton is the failsafe for the SEC loser.

My updated predictions are something like this.

BCS Champ - Auburn/Mizzou winner
Sugar - BAMA
Cap One - USC
Cotton - Auburn/Mizzou loser (possible LSU if Mizzou loses so Outback can have an East team)
Outback - LSU (Maybe Mizzou, see above)
Chicken - A&M
Gator - UGA
...didn' give the lowers one much thought.
Music City - Vandy
Liberty - Ole Miss
Compass - MSU

Alabama is going to either the Sugar or the NC.

The winner of the Mizzou - Auburn game is going to the Sugar unless FL State or Ohio State lose. Bama is not going to the NC game. They will, however, go to a BCS Bowl.

To the Auburn and Missouri fans:

The loser of the SEC Championship game Never gets to go to a BCS Bowl game unless they go into the SEC Championship game undefeated. See LSU 2005, Arkansas 2006, Tennessee 2007, S. Carolina 2010, Georgia 2011 and Georgia 2012.

This website would be hilarious if we backed into the NC

It would be complete bullshite for Auburn or Mizzou to play in the Cotton Bowl, while Alabama gets to sit at home and then receive a BCS bid simply because they didn't have to play anyone. Auburn and Mizzou should be the ones getting BCS bowl births since one won the SEC West and the other won the SEC East. Both are also top 5 teams at this point.

Eh, if we had to do it then yall should have to deal with that BS too dammit

Notre Dame got to sit home and watch us and UGA pound each other nearly to pulp last year and they were already in.

FSU loses,Okie State goes down and OSU too and damn skippy we get revenge on Auburn.

a link to your quoting... someone??? on your own projections =/= a link confirming this safety net clause

this has literally never (to my knowledge) been invoked before, but your quote talks like it's been around for a while. where in the world is this coming from??

It was there last year. That's why UGA went to Cap One over A&M.

I didn't follow SEC bowl selection too much before that.

Sorry for being right.

Ask Mizzou how it was to be #1 in 2007 going into the Big XII championship, only to lose and watch the Orange Bowl take Kansas who played nothing but high school teams and Mizzou, who beat them.

That was the worst to happen to anybody ever.

The only thing about LSU in the outback is that we open the season against Wisconsin next year. I wonder if that factors at all.

I hate to defend Bama, but haven't they earned it?

Wins over A&M, LSU, OM, VT, & MSU. Only loss coming to what looks to be the SEC Champ.

That's exactly what happened to us in '07. Substitute kU for Bama and it was the exact situation.

The two scenarios aren't comparable. Missouri dominated KU for most of the game. Auburn needed four missed field goals and a myriad of bad coaching decisions by Saban to beat Bama at home in the last second.

Wouldn't be the first time.
