no need.

i used to hate the saying 'it is what it is' but sometimes that's really the only truth.

He constantly cites analytics. He monitors his players' sleep patterns. He pumps out recruiting videos and scours the rulebook for loopholes that allow him to create additional scholarship space every year. Butch Jones is the coaching king of little things that add up to a whole bunch of nothing when you’re standing on the sidelines in the heat of an SEC game and you’re judged not on what you know but what you do and how much nerve you've got.

Sounds very Fran-like.

I hate certain coaches who have oodles of "oh wow you're such a brilliant tricky strategist/master mental manipulator" examples during the off-season but when it comes down to a clear time to make the right decision in an actual game - like when to go for 2 - they totally screw up.

Not if they watched the LSU or JSU game. That defense still blows just as bad as ever. However, it is impossible to change a defense in just one year

One game doth not make a defense, I understand. The defense is clearly improving.

They looked better against Mississippi State, but the real test is yet to come.

In 2012, AU had a bad road loss to open SEC play then lost a close home SEC opener where the defense looked like it had turned a corner and we all know how that worked out.

FWIW, They'll likely drop a few more games but I really, really don't think Gus will lose the team like Chiz did.

Tennessee fans must be sick right now. If Butch Jones had just gotten out of his own way, they would be 4-0 and ranked in the top 12.

The biggest surprise to me is offensive guru Gus getting schooled on a weekly basis. Most people should've seen this Woo pig train wreck coming a mile away.
