Removing 1995 Nebraska and 2001 Miami from the equation, 2011 LSU and 2011 Bama were both better. 2009 Alabama placed a smackdown on 2009 Florida, and won all their games.

That quote was not from a gator fan. I told you sane and you quoted a Gump.

95 Nebraska
01 Miami
11 Bama
All were better teams than 08 Florida. Hell, save the QB position, 2011 LSU was pretty stout as well.

And there it is...

And 2009 UF was nowhere near as good as 2008 UF. The offense was way worse without Harvin and Murphy.

Urbans ultimate team with 5 years + of recruits and foundation could barely beat an Alabama team with only 1 full year of Saban's recruits. In 2009 with 2 full years worth of Saban recruits Urban goes down. Quits, comes back. Loses again the next year, quits. That's all that needs to be said about CUM.

No. 2008 Florida had a defense nearly on par with LSU's 2011 defense, yet the same explosive offense. Tim Tebow, Percy Harvin, Jeff Demps, Chris Rainey, Louis Murphy, Riley Cooper, Aaron Hernandez, Cornelius Ingram, Brandon James, D'eonte Thompson, Carl Moore and a damn good offensive line...STACKED.

2011 Alabama wouldn't be able to score with 2008 Florida.

Thank you TT, for reinforcing my point.

People focus too much on the fact that Alabama's defense that year was tGOAT. Offense wasn't in the same league.

Florida's defense in 2008 was giving up just over 285 yards per game - right on par with the 2013 Alabama defense. Alabama and Tennessee both had better defenses that season.

So stacked they were down 20-17 at the start of the fourth quarter to 2008 Alabama - a team just one year removed from a 7-6 season.

If 2008 Alabama could keep up with them for 3 1/2 quarters, I'm pretty sure 2011 Alabama could, too. Not only could they keep up with them, they could beat them.

The 2008 SEC championship was missing Harvin, if he plays it is a completely different game.

2011 LSU have up 11 points per game, UF gave up 12 in 2008. Neither Bama or LSU had an offense that comes close.

11 Alabama didn't even win their division.

2008 UF faced a much harder schedule...

Because what happened in 1 game tells all.

Yea, I agree.

It wouldn't be easy for 2008 Florida to score on 2011 Alabama (at all), but once they did, would 2011 Alabama be able to go back and answer that score against 2008 Florida? It would be hard for me to rely on that 2011 Alabama offense because AJ McCarron hadn't completely taken the reigns, Julio Jones was gone, and it took more of a cautious type approach, IMO.

What's more important? Yards? Points?

You already have the stats. 2011 LSU allowed 11.2 points per game, 2008 Florida allowed 12.5 pointers per game.

Without their best playmaker, yes. How quickly you forget how good Percy Harvin was.

I'm not playing that little game.

You don't say, Alabama fan? 2009 Florida wasn't as good as 2008 Florida, BTW. I know that's probably hard for you to acknowledge.

Once again...on par with '13 Alabama.

And you quickly forget how good the 2011 Alabama offense was. Everyone focuses on that defense and forgets that the Alabama offense was putting up 430 yards and 35 points per game. They were second in the league in total offense and third in the league in scoring offense. And this was without a single star WR or TE on the two-deep. Our second leading receiver in 2011 was Brad Smelley. And yet no one could stop us, save LSU.

And if 2008 Florida were so superior, the loss of one player should not have affected them as badly as it did, especially in an offense as stacked as '08 Florida.
