because the last time they played Meyer had a third string quarterback and beat Alabama.

A third stringer that would probably be a starter at 99% of the other schools in the FBS - Alabama included.

And let's not pretend he just up and left Florida for another school. He quit for medical reasons. Which means he couldn't handle the stress of what it takes to coach in the SEC. So he goes to a school that has as much talent as Florida does, except this time it's located within a conference that has no depth.

When I think if easy I think of 21-0, but maybe that's just me.

There is no third stringer. There's the starter and those behind him who are pushing to take his job.

Congrats on being one of the few CFB fans to watch the rematch

Why would I care how many people watched the first win of what will soon be 5 in a row?

That is the weakest moral victory I've seen LSU fans try to claim, the no one watched it, or no one wanted to see it, except for the ones who mattered. Pathetic.

Any team that could go .500 against that LSU team deserves to be national champs.

Congrats

You didn't understand. Your moral victory was pathetic. 2011 LSU was a petty good team.

And just for the record, 21-0 is truly the gift that keeps on giving.

Well.... I can't disagree on the gift part.

We all know that the TPTB wanted the rematch to wreck the BCS.

Don't worry. Bama will be back to the Mike & Mikes of coaching soon enough

Your bitterness is very satisfying for me.

When Saban told LSU to frick off, I didn't think anything could hurt that fan base more.

When he went to Bama and really gave them a frick you I didn't think that could be topped.

No one could envision the anger, bitterness, and butthurt that 21-0 has caused, even four years later. Yall have a version of PTSD. Saban and Bama has literally given the LSU fan base a psychiatric disorder. Post tramatic Saban Disorder.

It is very satisfying.

Did he beat Saban in their last meeting?

Check Y or N.

He went to Utah, dominated, he went to Florida, produced the same results two years.

Went to Ohio State, produced the same results. Where he goes, he wins. His last year was bad, and I while this might be a really, really unhappy topic in Gainesville: I think the administration at Florida had a lot to do with him leaving, a lot more than anything else.

Speculation, I'm certain, but the bottom line is: He does his job, and he does it well. He had to walk over Alabama to win the playoffs.

I don't understand what LSU fans don't understand. There was already precedent for a non conference champion to play for the National championship. It happened twice before 2011.

Nebraska in 2001 and Oklahoma in 2003. Okie state lost to a 7 loss Iowa state team. Literally one of the worst football programs in any BCS conference. There never will be a precedent set that will allow a team to lose to a team that bad and still play for a natty.

Bama was a better team. Everyone knew it. In the first game LSU only crossed the 50 yard line 2 or 3 times. The fear was so apparent even before the dominoes fell.

Two of the best, but I would definitely take Meyer, but have extreme respect for Saban.

9-6 was the definition of anomaly. 21-0,
21-17, 38-17, and 20-13 proved that over, and over, and over, and over.

2011 LSU was on the doorstep of football immortality. They could have went down as the greatest team of all time, when in reality, they were not even the best team that year. And then to have that taken from you by a Saban coached Bama team and many will never get over it. The only defense they have to change the subject to things like "no one watched that game" or "but but but, Bama did t deserve to be there it's not fair".

Saban fricked them psychologically with that one.

For me it is not about the 21-0.

It is really about how smug Bama fans are about going .500

and of course.... there is Brad Edwards.

But it is late so....

Well said. There is no denying Urban is a great coach, but as you said, he cannot handle the grind of playing upper tier opponents week in and week out. Urban is in a good place. Ohio State is head and shoulders above the rest of the B1G. I just looked at their schedule and they do not play a good team until November 21 vs Michigan State AND they get them at home. Ohio State is pretty much gold for another playoff appearance and I think Meyer is at peace knowing this. Good for him.
