*Updated* Things to Take Away from the 2012 SEC Season

1) Coaches matter. Teams with talent on one or both sides of the ball simply cannot succeed without a competent, SEC caliber head coach.
2) The Spread Works in the SEC. I think we can safely put to rest all of the defense talk. Defense wins championships, but Spread+Defense>Defense or Spread alone.
3) Hurry-Up Spread offenses are deadly with quality players.
4) There are many interpretations of "SEC is Up" or "B1G/Big XII is Down", and these have consequences on the BCS.
5) The slightest A&M success leads to epic delusions of grandeur.
6) Teams can rebuild or collapse in quick fashion.
7) The East and West may be balancing out.
8) Our conference will most benefit from the upcoming playoff system.
9) Grinding, in and of itself, does not equal winning.
10) JFF will likely be an increasingly pricklier thorn in sides for years to come.
11) When a school is looking for a coach they think they are the best job out there, no matter the facts.
12) Interim coaches are BAD ideas.
13) Urban Meyer might make tOSU into a real hassle for SEC teams in the offseason.
14) The nationwide sports media is out to get the SEC.
15) Up and comers with "known" last names are not ever as good as the person that originally made their last name known.
16) tFlaghip cannot be kept down for long. We made the best hire in the SEC if not all of CFB this year.

Cute, but I think Auburn would be better. We lost a coach and a shite ton of players. Crap yes, surprising not really.

You'd better have a special talent at QB.
It has "worked" with Tebow, Newton, and Manziel
2 of those have a Heisman. Manziel may very well get one

Really good list. Agree with all of it.

It has worked OK with Bo Wallace under Freeze's first year. What system doesn't need a QB to be effective? And when you don't have one, you better have a super solid D.

I thought about that, but it falls under the rebuild in a hurry area IMO. Y'all did way better than I or many thought and seem to be on a road to being "back."

Need a great one? well...LSU, for example. Matt Mauk and Matt Flynn won BCS CGs and neither were great. Macarron <sp?> was terrific in the BCS CG last year. But, was not outstanding all year.
