We beat Tennessee head-to-head so move us up one baw.
There's 5 teams tied at 2-3, so that's not really true.

No, obviously they can't control that.
But when you have the 219 ranked SOS thus far, it does cause people to question the validity of your team's work thus far.
Fair enough.

Still, 16-1 is 16-1 and Cocky has a favorable schedule going forward.
It is what it is.

If we look at what UF has done, UF has 6 losses: Michigan State, Purdue, Miami, Tennessee, Florida State, and Texas A&M.
Easily the worst loss by far for UF is to Tennessee. The 5 other losses are to 4 top 15 teams and a very tough Florida State team with 2 of the most talented freshmen in the country.
So you lost to Tennessee, who SCAR plays at their place this week. You lost to FSU, who was beaten in the Paradise Jam by Hofstra, who we beat before winning the tourney championship. And you lost to FSU, who was beaten by Clemson, a team that we beat, in the exact same arena. You were also beaten by Miami, who was also beaten by Clemson ... who, again, we beat at their place.
We've also beaten Vandy, at their place. They are a Top 50 RPI team, are they not?
I'm trying to understand your point here?
quote:
Not shitting on Cocky, but when the schedule has been like that thus far, thats the way it is.
Yes it is .... thank you.

USCe's reality will come crashing down long before they play A&M, but I will still enjoy the arse whooping they get when we play them.

So you played a bunch of good teams and lost to them all? Congrats I guess.
It's a shame Hofstra beat FSU and stopped us from playing head to head. Lord knows if UF can't beat FSU than they couldn't beat Clemson either
Obviously everyone would do well with our schedule. It's why UK would win easily @ AU like we did.

Winning all your home games and splitting your road games is what you have to hope for.
7-3 would be amazing for SCAR after the next 6 games. Even 6-4 wouldn't be the end of the world.

You should know better than to put too much stock into early season tournaments.
Teams right now are nowhere close to where they were at that point.
Vanderbilt is actually RPI 54, which is close to Top 50. They have also been struggling really badly as of late. They were a trendy pick to be an SEC contender prior to the season. They haven't lived up to that.
South Carolina deserves credit for that win, but note that was also in Columbia.
So there is a lot of things to consider.

FSU won on a last second FG by Bacon.
Losses to MSU, Purdue, and Miami were all away from Gainesville.
Heck, UF had a shot to tie vs. A&M in College Station.
So yes, Florida lost those games, but they were competitive in each, and with an extremely young team, that bodes well for them getting further into SEC competition.

Its not true that Auburn beat Tennessee head-to-head?

So your early season, non-conference, wins are worthless?
I see.
Gotcha.
Your best non-con win was a two pointer over Okie State, who is having a horrible season.
You may claim Florida's superiority all you wish - but your actual results don't hold-up.
And listen, unlike roadgator, forevergator and you, among others ... Gamecock fans don't stalk every SEC basketball thread touting Florida's futility during the OoC part of their schedule. We just play (vicariously) the games and drive on with the mission.

It's not true that it means they should be ahead of them in the standings, you homer.
I just put them in the order they were on ESPN.

Actually, our best win is vs. # 36 RPI St. Josephs, a real A-10 contender.
Was just pointing out things without being a douche but you Cocky fans are just really titchy about anyone implying anything negative about your team.

If USC finished first in the conference, the board would collectively move on to baseball season and pretend basketball never happened.
And then if Holbrook gets his shite together and shows out with our stud incoming recruiting class in baseball as well, it'll be "Uh..well..y'all sucked in football so there!" or something along those lines. Oh..and "You're a women's basketball school" or some dumbass, moronic bullshite like that...bc..ya know...we're ONLY USC, we're not "allowed" to be good at anything, blah, blah, blah...
