Nobody's close. They've been a force or outright won 5 nat'l championships in about 6 weeks now...that's ridiculously impressive.

Basketball almost made a final 4, football still won the sec east. Been a good sports year.

And they have such shitty facilities too. It is kind of astonishing, honestly

Glad they're in the SEC, SEC, SEC.

They are not shitty, we just haven't spent like the rest of the conference over the last 10-15 years. It is the biggest knock on Foley, but in his defense, he was dealing with a huge economic downturn in the state of Florida as well. Much more severe than any other SEC state starting right after we went nuts and won two natties in football and basketball. Normally when you have success like that it is followed by a huge upswing in money.

And those are just the first of many. Stricklin is already talking about a major renovation of The Swamp.

Still is damn near 40 years old. Needs to be a complete overhaul next time.

The arena was gutted, the only thing that didn't change much was the exterior.

This is more than likely a stop-gap renovation. It's very nice, but the O'Dome is unlikely the long term home of Gator basketball. 25 years from now we're probably going to be looking at a new arena.

We had to play our first 10-15 basketball games on the road this season due to renovations. They were major.

I dare say the economic downturn affected places like Louisiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Ark. as bad if not worse than what happened in Florida.

Florida is head and shoulders above the rest of the conference, but not at the expense of the rest of the conference.
