Mettengerger has the arm strength and a quick release. I don't know if he has it between the ears though.

He has the 5th highest qb rating( not that bullshite qbr) in all of cfb.

Isn't Manziel's a lot higher? And to be fair... Tim Tebow lead the country in your little stat... he didn't fair well in the NFL.

I agree, but if

Meanwhile, JFF has played in more of a playground style of football that isn't seen much if at all in the NFL.

Is all your basing that on, Russell Wilson and Cam would like a word with you.

Cam has a rocket arm and RWilson has perfect mechanics. both of these can beat you from the pocket.

Tim Tebow was throwing dump passes that Harvin would take 80 yards. Mett and Tim Tebow are not alike in any way. Mett has gotten the 5th highest qb rating from INSIDE the pocket, not running around for 10 seconds letting the Wrs get open. Mett has to make his read in 2-4 seconds.

JFF leads the country in completion percentage from inside the pocket.

Hard to say. Mett is definitely the proto-type NFL QB but that proto-type is changing with mobile QB's having success in the league. For instance, I can easily see JFF running the Saint's offense.

a lot easier to do when teams have to play a defense that accounts for his ability to run at any time. you take an extra guy out of coverage every play, and there will be more open receivers.

In the nfl you have to be able to ( at some point) beat a team from the pocket. There is no way a small qb like JM can run the way he does in cfb.

Stellar analysis. Did you forget that 464 yard passing, 5 TD performance against Bama?

You mean where JM was throwing balls up for grabs? Yeah I saw that. If you think JM can beat nfl secondaries from the pocket, you're delusional. He doesn't have great mechanics, he doesn't have great footwork, and he doesn't have a strong arm.

I agree! Which makes it all the more amazing that Manziel leads all NCAA QBs in completion percentage for passes thrown from within the pocket. That really shows just how amazing Evans is; he's like the best WR in the history of ever!

Mett's immobility will be a huge negative in NFL

He better learn pocket presence

Well this sounds eerily similar to Bama fans saying Greg McElroy is more NFL ready than Cam Newton.

How's that working out for McGinger?

He heaved up exactly one prayer during the Bama game.

Has it occurred to you that perhaps JFF doesn't need to play pretty to be great? I mean, you continue to harp on his mechanics, but he's unquestionably a better QB this year, which is supported by almost every statistic.

So where's the imminent downfall due to his mechanics? Don't give me some conclusory line like "that shite won't work in the league."

Explain yourself or STFU.

What the hell does JFF have to do to prove he is a good QB? i mean really what hasnt the guy done the past two years to not be one of the most highly anticipated QB in the last 10 years? outside of maybe RG3

Dude puts up nintendo numbers every weekend on SEC defenses and you think he cant make it at the next level?
