so Georgia's baseball program is finally joining the SEC. i'm amazed it took y'all so long, esp since y'all were the first SEC team to win the NC. i'm not knocking, just telling the truth. Georgia high school baseball is damn good and I've always felt that if the school would put some emphasis on the sport (facilities, corp. support, coaching, recruiting, etc) y'all could become a factor in the SEC and nationally pretty quickly. if y'all start winning bet y'all start adding seats.

It's a start...

Home to Georgia baseball since 1966, the renovations that have been put into place over the offseason are the first in 25 years. New club levels, one on the field and one on the pressbox level, expanded concourses and concession areas and even new field turf in foul territory will immediately stand out to fans who are used to the more recent years at Foley.

Is that green house in the upper right someone's home? If so they have a great view!

New Athletics dorms. It's beautiful, but I'm still jaded over them kicking me out of my old spot.

Those are all private residences that back up to the right field outfield...

Stricklin doing work

He sees potential in our program, and is taking advantage of it now.

Yep. And as private residences, they are free to blast music during NCAA sanctioned regional and super regionals when there isn't supposed to be any type of walk-up music. They're also famous for using bullhorns to heckle the shite out of the right fielder of the opposing team.

Yes, but it's typically inhabited by college kids/recent grads. It's not like a family and their kids live there. "The Green House" has been a staple of Foley for years. Back in the early 2000s when we were rolling they would always have big signs up on the fence, and the backyard has also been a main party spot after people couldn't get shithoused on Kudzu Hill anymore.

Were you up there after we clinced the super and Matt Cerione ran up into the yard and shotgunned a beer?

I was in that backyard of the green house every game of that postseason, probably a good chance we've run into each other.

I'm pretty sure Kudzu Hill is still free for anyone, unless they changed it this season.

Should still be free. Was last year, anyway.

I was. Not at the house, but on the hill. The heckling from that day still make up some of the common phrases amongst my friends.

What is there now isn't remotely close to Kudzu Hill, I understand modernization but it's sad to see what's become from such a great UGA experience.

Also, do you only have to show an ID to get in there?

I absolutely, 100% agree with this.

I'm wondering if anyone is going to start a thing in the new apartments they just built next door to the green house. Honestly, I like that they cleaned up the hill area, but I wish they'd take the fricking trees and rose bushes down. I understand that it's probably an insurance risk or something that someone could get hurt, but make it at least habitable for folks to perch up there. Free baseball from the right field at Foley is about as Georgian as The Masters and opening day at Turner Field.

They used to have a bunch up on the web somewhere from the celebration after the win over NC State. I was hanging over the wall, high fiving the guys with everyone else. I haven't been able to find any of those pics for a while, though. Kind of sad actually.
