UGA will be the best team, but we might not win the east..........just like 2014.

I'm assuming this is another arky troll, but WTH...
Georgia has been the most talented team in the east for a number of years now. The next best has been Tennessee.
That's all you need to know about talent.

Well, if you'd scored on us last year I guess I would have been more impressed with your OL. Especially seeing as we were playing in Missouri and all.

No they haven't.
We had the most talented team in 2013. 14, I guess they did but we had more players drafted last year.

The part where anyone in their right mind could claim we've been the second most talented in the East for the past few years.

Sorry, forgot about Florida.
That's an even better example for the point I'm making about talent and success on the field.
UT has been pretty good though as well...
2007:
Florida #1 - Best in SEC East
Tennessee #2 - 2nd best in SEC East
2008:
Florida #3 - Best in SEC East
Tennessee #35 - 3rd best in the SEC East (no Missouri)
2009:
Florida #11 - 3rd best in the SEC East
Tennessee #10 - 2nd best in the SEC East
2010:
Florida #2 - Best in the SEC East
Tennessee #9 - 2nd best in the SEC East
2011:
Florida #12 - 2nd best in the SEC East
Tennessee #13 - 3rd best in the SEC East
2012:
Florida #4 - Best in the SEC East
Tennessee #21 - 4th best in the SEC East
2013:
Florida #4 - Best in the SEC East
Tennessee#21 - 4th best in the SEC East
2014:
Florida #8 - 3rd best in the SEC East
Tennessee #5 - Best in the SEC East

Recruiting rankings???
Posted on 6/5/15 at 6:45 pm to throwingoranges
Meh, Crap shoot.
A better evaluation would be a look at how many players were drafted or signed to an NFL team.

Totally agree. But past NFL draft success has little impact on predicting the future (i.e, "UGA will win the East").
My point is that Florida and UT both had very strong recruiting classes, as did Georgia. But none of that predicted a great deal of success in the division race.
I still think Georgia is the most talented team and I believe that in the fall, UT will be the second-most talented team, especially given Florida's early losses to the NFL.
All that said, I expect Missouri to be in the mix for another division crown. I think it will be a down year, but the schedule is very favorable and there is a lot of parity in the East right now.

Since Mizzou joined us they have had a more talented team than UT. Now, they are rebuilding so they may catch up this year or next.

I was referring to your comment that UGA had the most talented team in years past (also UT being number 2)
You can look at how many players that played on those teams were drafted or at least signed to a FA deal. That would be a better indicator of "talent" than recruiting rankings.

^This. The coaching changes and attrition suffered wrecked what classes we had so badly we might as well have been under serious scholarship sanctions. The proof is in having to rebuild both OL and DL from scratch last season, play a ton of true freshmen and the APR (which measures attrition) that was so low we were in danger of a bowl ban (not that we could make one those years).

Georgia's o-line will probably be the best in the nation I'd guess. If only Fournette had a line like that
I think our line gets overrated. Gurley gained like 65%+ of his yards (or something similar) after contact. I don't know what % of yards came after contact for Chubb, but I'm sure they were similar. These 2 stud backs will make teh line look better. I think they are good, but not the best in the nation or even top 10 in nation.
