Still perennially finishing higher than UT.

That's laughable coming from a tennessee fan. Why don't you wait til your team isn't a raging dumpster fire before you talk crap, especially to a team who beat you the last 2 years and is the reigning east champ.

WC, thanks for input, great commentary. Working on one for UF now. This is a great way to get through summer. Tons of good info out there by beat writers from local papers before ESPN pollutes everything.

I appreciate a non-flamer talking about Georgia. It's a breath of fresh air on here.

This is true, but consider it a wash between the two teams on that and then factor in that LSU is a hell of a lot better talent and/or coaching wise and it's a wrap.

If we don't win the east Richt should be fired. It is almost certain that we will win the east looking at who we return, the strength of the east, and our schedule. I fully and wholeheartedly expect us to return to the SECCG. Missouri (and ONLY because of the suspensions) and SC are the only games we should be in any real trouble. I believe we're better than every team on our schedule.
lol...

They are more talented than us, I'm not debating that. But our defense is every bit as good as theirs, and we have some very good talent on offense. OL would be the only area in 2012 in a matchup with them that I would feel very overmatched.
Coaching...eh. Miles is a good coach but I wouldn't say he's head and shoulders better than Richt. Look at the matchups between them.
2005- we whooped their arse in the SECCG.
2008- we whooped their arse in baton rouge
2009- we lost in the last minute in athens.
2011- got whooped in the SECCG.
How many of those 4 games have to do with coaching? In 05 we coached beautifully to race to a 21-7 lead an never looked back, but we were the better team. In 2008 we were the better team. In 2009 we went 8-5 and lost in the final minute, and it wasn't due to coaching. In 2011 they were the better team.
In a Richt vs Miles matchup, I have yet to see anything that points to one coach grossly outcoaching the other.

what's so funny? Let's break that bolded part down.
If we don't win the east, I think Richt should be fired.
Looking at who we return (10 starters from a top 5 defense and basically everyone on offense aside from a few OL), the strength of the east (nobody else but SC looks like a challenge), and our schedule (which is easy), it is almost certain we'll win the east again.
I fully expect us to win the east.
What's wrong with all that? I bet 90% of the board would expect us to win the east too.

Holy shite! Is that schedule right?!?! Georgia ought to freaking cake walk into the SEC championship game this year.....
Posted on 5/17/12 at 10:18 am to Aubie Spr96
Exactly. None of the 3 best teams from the west. Move SC to later in the year. Get vandy before UT instead of after. Play GSU (triple option team) the week before GT. A gimme before UF.
If we get by missouri there's no reason not to go 11-1 at WORST.

I'm not a huge Les fan, but if you still aren't convinced that 2011 LSU was head and shoulders better than UGA, you put way too much stock in that first half.

This.
2012 was rigged for UG to have an excellent shot to make it to the SECCG.

Yes. Again this year. Hopefully we can improve enough on offense to take them down this year.

I just said in that previous post they were the better team. There's no debating that, they were clearly better.
And a game is 60 minutes, not 30. There's no reason to put any less stock in the first half than the second. We flat out dominated them for 30 minutes with less talent and, supposedly, less coaching. That should say something right? And btw, it's not the fault of our coaches that we dropped 2 sure fire touchdowns that would have had us up by 3 possessions at halftime.

I keep asking but you're never on, what's the deal with your av?
I don't care, I think it's funny, I just don't understand.
Also, sigs/avs are turned off at work so idk if it's changed or not.

blame missouri and aTm. If it weren't for them we'd be playing in tuscaloosa.

They were and it showed. We had depth problems and just got gassed. That will improve this year.

It's a pear. It's prickly. It's WG when it comes to UF.
