Looking over stats from last year, and noticed how outstanding Georgia's offense was in conference play. It's just outright impressive.
Points Forced in SEC Games.
East:
Mizz - 191
UGA - 310
UF - 199
UT - 204
SC - 272
UK - 183
Vandy - 102
West:
Bama - 266
State - 270
OM- 202
AU - 275
LSU - 153
A&M - 223
Ark - 165
They scored 35 more points than the next closest team, and didn't have the benefit of an extra game in the SECC.
Probably more impressive. Two teams actually had HALF, or less, as many points in conference play. Granted, that's probably as much or more on those teams having pitiful offenses as it is Georgia having a great one.

With 191 points forced, and one extra game, that really doesn't make a lot of sense.

Loss to Florida was entirely on the shoulders of the defense (the DL to be exact).
Loss to USCe was just an unfortunate close game on the road.
Only game you can blame the offense for was the loss to Tech and, really, that has more to do with fumbling twice on the goal line and throwing a game sealing INT.

Bobo was criminally underrated. Interesting to see how his HC gig goes at CSU, because he could be one to watch in the next couple years.

Speaking of Bobo. Any of you UGA folk keeping up with him at CSU? I wonder how he is going to do over there.

Bobo was a cancer for UGA. Thank God he's gone.

Yeah, the AJC version of Dawgnation keeps us up to date with him. It sounds like he's doing his thing over there.

How much is your OC paid? LSU paid Cam 1.3 mil to have half that production last year.

ETA: Interesting Note, Arkansas 17 - LSU 0
Taking out that score
LSU - 153
Arkansas - 148

CSU had a good thing going before Bobo went there, so I would expect him to do well. I don't see him going through a couple 4 win seaons at first.

It doesn't work as well when you have to point it out.
Maybe that troll was just a little too subtle.

Cool. I wish him well. I'd offer something about offense in this thread, but I'm a Gator fan and after the last 4 years, I'm not sure what offense is any more.

Our West opponents really padded our stats.

And they did it all with a bit of a stiff at QB.

It sorta makes sense when you break down the games. Georgia was Jekyll and Hyde.
The Bulldogs beat Mizzou and Auburn by a combined score of 68-7, but they also gave up more than 30 points in five conference games.
Against Mizzou and Georgia's six common SEC opponents last year, the combined scores of the Georgia games was 242-188. Georgia gave up more than 30 points in five games and they lost two games. For Mizzou it was 157-92. They scored between 20 and 30 points in five of six games, and won all six.

For real. Probably more accurate to say our defense was Jekyll and Hyde though. Frustrating.
Been the same song and dance on defense for the last 5 years or so. Hopefully we get some consistency on that side of the ball with Pruitt now...we saw some positive signs last year for sure.
