Richt is working on an extension and likely raise.

So Georgia is giving a raise to a coach that hasn't even won a conference championship in the last decade

I know some of you are not really looking for serious responses, but I will give you one anyway.

Richt getting an extension and raise is more about the commitment from the AD and President than about the money. Richt's salary increase is strictly to keep him commensurate with the rising market; as he did, once again, reach the 10 win mark. The years added on to his contract that he will get is the main purpose of this signing. It thoroughly quells any and all internet retirement rumors, so UGA can attract quality coaching names for the OC hire as well as making recruiting flow much easier this cycle.

For all the Richt detractors; what exactly are you expecting the Athletic Department to do with a coach who produces 10 win seasons in 9 of 14 years during his tenure? You don't let a guy that does all of that and also does it the right way, just walk out and leave. Especially with the post Phillip Fulmer fiasco at UT as proof to the cautionary tale.

Resistance to such wisdom is futile.
