from your espn link:

quote:

Richt would not discuss the reason behind the suspensions, only that a violation of team rules occurred

quote:

But a source told DawgNation....
...the source had no knowledge of when the test results were known.

quote:

Georgia associate athletic director Claude Felton said Tuesday athletic association policy strictly forbids a suspension being delayed so a student-athlete can compete in an important game. "Our athletic association regulations are firm that competition suspensions, as a result of a violation of team or athletic association policies, are immediate and occur at the next scheduled competition," Felton said.

How dare you quote the article he linked!

To reiterate my point about a player visiting not equaling the player being definitively allowed on the team. Here's a link the Auburn fans may want to read:

From the article you linked....

According to 247Sports, he is being recruited by Auburn, LSU and Louisville. He unofficially visited LSU on Saturday and will "probably" visit Auburn this weekend for the Louisiana Tech game.

If memory serves me, I don't think he ever did visit and Gus made a statement around the time of this article saying that they wouldn't recruit a kid with DV charges hanging over him.

It doesn't matter. If the kid from FSU got kicked off the team for the gange, I don't see any big deal if UGA signs him.

I think at this point there is a 60% chance he is an Andy Kaufman style performance artist.

This guy is a UGA fan that has managed to get half of the Auburn posters to think he is one of them and still hate him. It's actually pretty impressive when you think about it.

That's fair, Catfish, but it's really my point exactly. Someone at Auburn at least gave him the impression he could visit, and he may or may not have actually done so. Obviously he didn't end up playing for Auburn and I have no doubts that Gus probably was the one to put a stop to it.

Someone beginning the process of showing interest in the school, even receiving interest from someone at the school/visiting doesn't mean he will end up playing for that team.

I strongly suspect that is what is going on with this FSU kid.

Yeah, I think that in Taylor's case, the fact that Rodney recruited him at UGA led people to think he would get a look at Auburn. Richt is probably giving a kid he recruited a courtesy look, nothing wrong with that.

We would essentially have to CUT someone in order to make a scholly available because our numbers are air tight at the moment. I just can't see anyone getting cut to make room for him. I have never really seen UGA do the processing thing but we shall see.

Yeah, can't see Richt doing that. Also the fact that he would only have one year of eligibility. From what one of y'all said, you're not in desperate need of a LB.

I'll be glad when the season starts so we have actual crap to talk about.

I don't think he is really trying. I think it just comes naturally.

I don't think people care uga is recruiting the kid, its just the holier than thou stance some uga fans take when any other school does this.

Do what? Allow someone to visit? Now if they sign him, you guys have a point. My guess is that Pruitt recruited him at FSU, and is doing him a favor by letting him visit.

Hey..we take shots at Auburn, so it's hard to take offense when you get your shots in, too!

I'm pretty sure thta I heard/read the same thing. He wanted to visit Auburn, but they said no, or discouraged it.
