USCe is not that good, bud.

USC is young as hell on defense, and slowly getting better. I agree that they're not great right now, but coming down the stretch, they may very well be hard to handle. The offense is good enough right now to help make up for the defensive deficiencies.

That said, I think USC needs to be graded on something of a curve. Their first three games were against three rock-solid opponents. aTm was clearly better that game, but ECU has proven formidable (wouldn't surprise me to see them like UCF last year), and UGA will be very good throughout the year. Sure, I'd like to have the aTm game back, but if USC had to be 2-1 to start the season, they probably lost the best game to lose.

Let's say USC and UGA both win out, and USC plays an undefeated bama in the SECCG. Bama wins and obviously they're in as the 1 or 2 seed. But then you have an 11-1 UGA team who hasn't lost in 2 months, and at that point in time would be ranked (in the polls, which I know don't matter) around 5th. Would be interesting to see if they squeeze into the 4 spot.

I really do think that the committee is going to take conference champions above all else. Given the scenario above, the most important variables are the records of the other four conference champs. In this scenario, I think UGA gets in if, say, the Pac-12 Champ is an Arizona State with three losses, and the BIG champ is underwhelming, too. That would probably put the ACC, B12, SEC champs with UGA as the potential fourth member.

It's really early yet to see how the playoff scenario is going to play out, for sure. But I think the committee will probably do everything in their power to ensure that they don't have two conference members in the final four. They desperately want to avoid an LSU/Bama-situation again.

If you win SECCG you're in the playoffs, if you don't you aren't. only the SECw could get a nonconf champ into playoffs this year. Michigan state's loss is much better than yours, but they don't have many potential quality wins left on their schedule.

unless Penn State/nebraska (lol) runs the table, big10's only hope is for michigan state to dominate conference and then have Oregon dominate pac12, even all of that can only serve as a tie breaker against a one loss ACC or big12 champ.

There is a scenario where UGA wins out but doesn't play in the SECCG. Under that assumption, do you leave out a hot UGA team? The point of my post is to make sense of the selection criteria. Are we going strictly on wins or the eye ball test? The answer to that question will explain a lot. I think the latter will cause a shite storm, because it then becomes purely subjective

The East Champ will likely have 3 maybe 4 losses this year.

UGA will still likely lose @Missouri and to Auburn
SCar will still likely lose @Auburn and either @UK or @UF (they always lose a head scratcher).
TN will lose @UGA, @Ole Miss, Bama and @SCar
Missouri will likely lose @SCar, @TN and @A&M
UF will likely lose @TN, UGA, @Bama and LSU

It is going to be a **** SHOW

I don't want to say likely lose to Mizzou but it's definitely going to be a tough one.

You could say Auburn is likely but it's too early to tell. A lot can happen.

I'm nervous about KY and the Cocktail Party now.

But yea, will be a shite show.

USC controlled that game from the beginning and Georgia was able to make it very interesting in the 4th quarter. What does that make UGA?

2nd in the SEC East race?

This is where the rant is today. He posts a pretty legit question that he put a lot of thought in to, and y'all just assume it's a troll. Legit discussion doesn't take place anymore and it's kind of sad.

Dude, did you see his original stuff which he has admittedly edited out? He set the tone early that USC still sucks. Seemed very bitter and couldn't have been taken seriously for most of page 1.

I love this year people act like there will be 3 or 4 undefeated teams because there is a 4 team playoff. Plan and simple a 1 loss SEC team will have a better chance than any other 1 loss team in the country to be in the playoff. Let us get through the next few weeks and we will have a much better idea.

I said SCAR was a bad team because I believe they are. I said the same exact thing about UGA. I didn't edit the post out of fear of trolling. I edited the post to encourage discussion. I don't say things I wouldn't stand by. I'll leave the trolling to the cool guys on the board. I'll post boring football discussions and hope no ones feelings get hurt

YES, unless S. Carolina wins the SECCG and 3 of 4 of the following happen:

-Florida State loses 3 times enroute to ACC championship or Clemson wins the ACC
-The B10 champ has 2 losses
-Oregon goes undefeated and no one else in the Pac-12 has fewer than 3 losses
-Big12 winner has 3 losses (2 losses if Baylor cause non conf)
