Tailgating is subjective.. You need a few things for a successful tailgate:
1) Booze
2) Women
3) Food
4) Friends
You have enough of those 4 things and you could tailgate the Alabama State game in a Wal-mart Parking lot.
Bounce around...make new friends <-- my favorite aspect of tailgating

Last time was definitely meh but we've got friends from Carolina to stay with this tune and a few tailgates. It's definitely not great tailgating or tradition but that game will still be electric. Oh and drinking helps.

SC's tailgating sucks for the college student because it's not on campus, but we've got better tailgate parking options and traffic flow than most schools, because we're not on campus and have the fairgrounds space. the fairgrounds is now greatly improved w/ grass and the farmers mkt commons is pretty fancy too.
i would rather be on campus with bars, restaurants and fraternity houses in walking distance, but we're in the oldest incorporated city in the SEC and didn't have the luxury of knowing what space universities needed for athletics. USC actually started on the capital campus.
UGA is older than incorporated Athens, Columbia is older than UGA. LSU moved to BR after it started playing football, so they set up a campus w/ ample room to grow.

"It's not real scenic, but it ain't bad. We don't tailgate in the prettiest of places (an alley behind the Budweiser building), but we have a couple TV's, a HD projector, smoker, corn hole, flip cup, beer pong, etc. We have a damn fun tailgate."
That always makes for a good tailgate. yall will have to come visit next weekend, we aren't too far from there

I'm going, but I'm trusting my USCe friends to find us somewhere good.

Smart move. We have some damn nice tailgating spots: Fairgrounds, Cockabooses, Farmer's Market. We take up all the good stuff. The warehouse parking lots and spots along the railroad tracks we keep shitty for Georgia, Tennessee and Clemson fans.
We roll out the garnet carpet for Mizzou's 2,000 fans, but 12,000 barking rednecks is like a visit from your sister-in-law's children.

Plug McDuffie Street into your GPS. Best tailgates are around there.

As for tailgating it has really improved and is alot better than before. Its different than other schools but we can only make do with what we have. If you have a bad tailgate its cause you or the people you tailgate with just suck.
